The stubby principal walked directly in front of Henry as she continued her extensive and mundane tour of Queen Elizabeth Academy. Her guest seemed less than attentive towards the useless facts revealed, but both continue to act as if the information is the most valuable facts they've ever heard.
Henry continued to glace outside the foyer windows and has not tried to listen to a single word of the tour. Time is slowly ticking down in his head until they leave. Minute by minute they are getting closer to their departure. The party does not realize the nimble footsteps racing down a hallway close by.
Elis has already missed 30 minutes of her AP Math class and is sure she would be behind for the rest of the class if she doesn't run from the office to the classroom. What she missed from here on out, she would have to make up during another class which wasn't an option for her. As she runs down the foyer crossing into the second corridor, she doesn't realize there is a group gathering. With a violent crash, Elis realizes the consequences of her actions as she stumbles backwards with the image of the prince's face cemented in her brain.
Henry looks at the minuscule school girl, with a look of shock. Suddenly, he is enjoying the small pleasure of a new face. When their meet eyes, Henry shows off his mesmerizing smile but Elis' face doesn't change. She looks past Henry to the woman behind him and her face grows in fear. "My apologies, your royal highness. I'm sorry Ms. Crawford, I was returning to my class from the office." Henry's eyes turn around to the principal whose face softens at the mention of Elis being in the office.
The Principal adjusts herself when she notices Henry staring in her direction. "It's alright Elis, I understand. Please watch where you are running next time." Elis gives Ms. Crawford a weak smile and then turns back the way she came. Ms. Crawford returns to her previous place in the tour.
When Elis rounds the corner, back in the hallway of the office, she pauses to catch her breath and stead her racing thoughts. "Maybe I'll wait here till I hear them leave?" she thinks to herself.
Henry, still in his shock, taps on his uncle's shoulder to tell him he's going to the washroom. The tour continues without him as he walks towards the hallway where the girl disappeared. He doesn't expect to see the girl leaning her small frame against the wall, looking to be catching her breath. "Hello love," Henry says as he watches the girl jump at his words.
"Hi," she says with a puff of air. Henry let out a tiny laugh making Elis smile back at him.
"Are you alright?" Henry asks walking around to stand in front of Elis.
Taken back by the prince's actions, Elis stiffens for a second but then he reaches out a hand to reassure her, creating a warming sensation to spread from his touch. Elis' smile grows as she watches his smile grow as well. As a sign of courtesy, she reaches out her hand for him to shake, "I'm Elis Rosenfeld. I'm sorry for my abrupt introduction back there. Honestly, this was not how I planned I would meet you."
"I quite liked your abrupt introduction. It was the best way I could've met you." Henry leaned in close to Elis and then in a whisper he spoke, "you've just made my day."
When he leans away, Elis is blushing with a small smile. Henry looks at her for a moment again, trying to compose his thoughts about how he is feeling. "I hope this isn't too forward," Henry speaks with a small voice. "But I was wondering if I could have your number?" Elis' big eyes look up at Henry confused, "I would ask you to dinner but I'm afraid it won't happen."
Elis reaches down to her pocket to grab her phone then hands it to Henry, with a slight blush across her cheeks. He hands over his phone, unlocked and on his contact page. "I'll put an email in if that's alright."
"Whatever works," Henry smiles at her as they hand over each other's phones.
An awkward silence starts to hang over the pair, "Well I should get back to class but enjoy your tour."
"I hardly doubt I'll enjoy it but I hope I will see you again," Henry speaks.
Elis returns his request with a nod and a smile, then rushes back down the hallway to try and catch the remaining minutes of her class.

Neither knew at the time what this moment would mean for them; how it might change their lives from this point on. Henry would go on to take up the biggest responsibility in his whole life while Elis would have to make the biggest choice she will ever have to make. But now their lives are linked to each other.
During the next few years before Elis graduates from high school, the pair would share secret conversations any moment they could, either over a phone call or through direct messages on social media. A strong relationship grew between the two of them, making them both wonder if it was going to be more.
Elis, however, went through the toughest years of her life so far which made her look at this relationship differently. Did she really think she would be able to be in the public eye with all of her past drama? Even though she had her restraints, her feelings for Henry grew stronger every day they talked.
Finally, after the two years of talking over the phone, the pair met up for a special trip together - along with Elis' best friend. For an eighteenth birthday present, Henry took the girls to Paris - a dream destination for Elis. Their relationship hit different heights on that special trip but all secrets will be revealed in due time. All that needs to be said is secrets were said and lasting memories were made.
