One day I tried to make pleasant conversation, again.
I scribbled the circle in, why did the teachers have to give homework on a Thursday?
Friday wouldn't be a good day if they did that.
Bushes rustled and my eyes looked up to see the amber creature walking out of the forest.
I frowned, "You're back late again."
He tiredly walked on the path around the pool- yes, Luna owned a house with a pool-
climbing into the chair next to me.
The cat store blankly out across the water, the glow of it reflecting across his fur.
I huffed out a breath, "Not gonna even meow hello, go figure.."
Xandir looked over, "Meow."
I frowned in annoyance.
He looked back at the water, tail flickering.
The moon was full, its rays of light being dulled by the clouds overhead- it was almost ten, Luna was asleep, not knowing I was out here.
Looking down at my work, I filled in the circles and completed the assignment.
Xandir sat erect, looking out across the water, his eyes closed slowly.
I frowned-
I wonder how he would react if I pushed him i-
"I would not advise that."
My eyes widened and I store at him.
The cat's head slowly turned, he met my eyes.
Was that- "Xandir?"
He yawned, "Push me in, see what happens."
My jaw dropped.
"WHAT THE HECK- YOU CAN SPEAK?!"
His mouth didn't form words, he only meowed on accasion, so he used telepathy..?-
"You can use it too." he licked his paw, "It is quite easy to learn."
I stood up- "Luna.." I yelled, like she could hear me inside-
Xandir turned to me, his eyes glowed green-
"You are Forbidden to tell."
3...
"How do you.. does Luna know?"
"No." Xandir's voice was that of a boy's, though it had an older tone..
"Huh.." I sat back, "How-"
"Are we communicating?" he looked into my eyes, they were golden once again, "Its.. normal."
I frowned, "It isn't normal, you're a cat-"
"Speciest." he grumbled, "It is rare, but normal."
Groaning, I looked across the pool's light.
"So let me get this straight.."
"Okay." he sat down on his paws.
I eyed the creature.
"You're saying that humans can have telepathic conversations with cats?"
Xandir froze, "Yes...?"
I frowned, "Yes?"
"Yes." he store at the water.
Okay.
Okay.
