Jazmin repeatedly radioed Deven. Dammit! He was stuck in their trap! She had to report to the president. This rebellion was a ticking time bomb. The rebels were slowly creeping up on DC and Jazmin had no idea what to do with herself.
As a G.E.V, she was trained to slaughter. But these were warriors, they put up a fight. The situation had been flip-flopped. And she was clueless.
President!” She called him on her radio. “We’re outnumbered. Let’s drawback and make a defense plan!”
The president didn’t respond right away. He seemed to be thinking. Jazmin didn‘t like it when the president thought, he never came up with decent plans. He never could create, he was doomed only to destroy. Finally he said, “You need more training if you assume things like that. But yes, fall back and secure the palace. I must be protected. Crow’s loss hurt us greatly. She was our military genius and strength.”
“Yes, sir.” Jazmin replied, signaling with her hands for the other G.E.V’s to retreat. Defeat wasn’t an option. All the rebels would be defeated. Lady Raven or not, there was no other option.
Yes, Jazmin wanted to see all their delicious blood splattered across the ground, painting the glass a dark and evil red that dripped into the reflecting pools and covered the old white marble until it was crimson.

Loise watched Deven escort Hayden through the crowds. His hand was protectively around the boy’s shoulder, keeping him from getting lost.
She had been angry. Loise always considered her face her best feature. She’d always thought love needed a beautiful face and beautiful hair.
But Deven didn’t care. He looked at her with love and pain of a friend. He regretted loosing what they might’ve had. But he didn’t reject her because of her face or hair, he rejected her because the safety of a friend was more important.
Loise had barely survived the explosion. She‘d barely had tome to spit out the grenade and wiggle out of the strings. She’d been injured. Sitting there, unable to move until Ash treated her, Loise had more than enough time to think. Hayden, he was unstable and Loise was jealous. She was trying to kill Ash, and Hayden knew. He lost control of his emotions, it wasn’t something he had control over. She had been the enemy.
In this world life wasn’t as precious. Loise had lived. While she now had a reason to hate Hayden, Loise didn’t. She’d been given another chance. She didn’t wanted it weighed down by bad choices.
Loise watched Deven laugh with Hayden. She wished she’d learned her lesson so much easier. She had lost her face, and her stupidity all together.
“Deven!” She called. He looked back at her, the most alive she’d ever seen him.
“Loise! Hurry up, we need to reach the next check point! Gotta keep the young one safe!’ he chided her, not stopping to talk. She smiled.
“I’m the same age as you two!” Hayden protested, giving her the stink-eye. “Do I need to tell the both of you the plan, again? You’re not protecting me!”
Deven knew where al the agents were, and they were lucky that the crowds covered up their conversations. None of the people here would break their daily routines for rebels. They all supported the rebels here.
Loise just crossed her arms, looking at the child who’d almost killed her less than a week ago. “tell me the plan again, baby bird.”
“The last checkpoint is at Grand Central Station in New York. We need to be there to regroup with the rebels at 3 pm on Monday. Our next checkpoint is the train station, where we’ll meet with the Little Wington rebels. We commandeer the train, and regroup with the New York rebels. We left our package, right Crow?” Hayden ran through the plan aloud.
