Alex's point of view
She looks at me, her earth like eyes searching mine. None of this is going to be easy to explain and I know I need to think carefully about how much I tell her. I sigh and run my hands through my thick locks and sits on the coffee table in front of her so she has no choice but to look at me occasionally. She avoids eye contact and observes my surroundings. What is it with women and their stubbornness?
"You have to look at me eventually but alright I'll just talk and maybe you'll chime in now and then." I drink more whiskey but out of the bottle this time because I know I'll consume it all after this conversation. "I didn't kill your friend. If I kill someone I tend to cover my tracks but normally I just make people forget instead. Killing people is a lot of work when there's no reason to kill them. You have to hide the body and find somewhere that it won't be found and it's a task in itself really." She frowns and looks at me from the corner of her eye in disgust causing me to sigh.
"There's someone else who has done this. He's reckless. We used to be friends, brothers and honestly I made him look like a kitten back then but now it's different. He's like a serial killer only heightened. He's much much worse. He kills for the thrill of it and sometimes he kills for a reason. He's smart and cunning but also chaotic and irrational. He also hates being betrayed but will find it quite easy to betray you and find justification for it." I clench my fist and end up breaking my glass in my other hand causing blood to drip onto my trousers.
She looks at my hand and hands me a handkerchief from her pocket causing me to frown. She's like an old lady always having a tissue or cloth on hand in case they need it. I accept and our hands touch slightly. I felt the warmth in hers, I heard the blood in her veins.
I wipe at the blood, my wounds already healed and set the handkerchief to the side, noticing the vintage pattern around it. I look back at her and see her eyes glazed over with grief. "Is it my fault?" She whispers delicately. Any normal human wouldn't have heard her speak at all. I tilt my head to the side and hear her jagged breathing, her heart rate increasing in fear that all of this loss is because of her. Her lips parted slightly. "Honestly I'm not sure what his game is but you have a big part in it. I knew your mother. Rosaline and I didn't get off to a great start and Travis didn't help with matters either. Witches and vampires haven't gotten along in centuries but some work together when it suits their agendas. Me and your mother ended up coming to an understanding. I didn't exactly expect it to happen but one day she approached me."
I lean back and reflect on the day and chuckle. "Well when I say approached me I mean she used her witchy woo woo on me rendering me unconscious so she could chain me up and not in the kinky way either." She scoffs and I smirk before leaning forward and grabbing her hand. She flinches and tries to pull away but I grip onto her tighter, her chest rising and falling rapidly as she fears me.
I lean closer and kiss her soft hand, her heart rate racing as the blood circulates around her body at a fast rate. She looks at me, her eyes mesmerising like her mother's accept these eyes have something much more in them. I feel myself drawn in but I force myself to snap out of it. I can't fall right now. I know my fate but I'm not sure if I believe any of it. I stand up and pace the room backwards and forwards. My mind racing with a mixture of thoughts.
"What did my mother want with you?" She speaks! I turn and see her already staring at me, her hands holding one another in front of her. I smirk putting my exterior back to play. "Your mother saw the future and she saw a lot. We became comrades and teamed up so we could try and save my brother but it seemed my brother had other ideas. You see he lost it. I think insanity took over him and not in a fun way either. He massacred hundreds of people. It became a bloodbath. We managed to get him trapped but unfortunately every spell has a loophole and this one had a loophole and so he is released and craving his revenge."
