The next thing the SAC officers did was tie a black strip of cloth around my eyes so I couldn't see. I asked why they were doing that and they said they were taking me somewhere that was supposed to be a secret, and only the SAC officers and some others knew where it was and they didn't want the children telling anyone else or... they trailed off ending with that. The rest of the way there was only silence. No one talked we all just sat there in silence. I remember at one point stopping at a what smelled like a gas station. "Stay in the car." One of them said as he and the other got out to go do who knows what at a gas station. They soon got back in and we were off driving again. At some point, I must have fallen asleep because I remember at one point one of the SAC officers shaking and waking me up to go into a secret hotel to go sleep for the night. I was still blindfolded as they led me out of the SUV and into the secret hotel, only once I got to my room they took my blindfold off and left me to be by myself. I walked over to one of the beds on it was a short note, it read Do not leave this room. SAC officers are all around this building. There is a pair of pajamas on the bed for you. There is also toiletry supplies in the bathroom for your use. We are right across the hall. There will still be one other person coming to bunk with you for the night. - The League I wandered around the room for a bit waiting for my other gest to arrive. There were two twin size beds against one wall and a small bathroom, and two small dressers against the other wall of the room across from the beds and on the outside wall there was a window. My roommate had the exact same note on his bed, and the exact same pair of pajamas just a bit bigger it looked like. I went into the bathroom, there were two sets of toiletries with our names on them in sharpie. I looked at the name on the other set of toiletries, the name read Martin. Great I was roommates with a boy, at least it's only one night I thought to myself. Just then I heard the door open.
"Hello?" he said into the room.
"Hey," I said as I emerged through the bathroom doorway. My first reaction to him was probably a woah you're cute kind of reaction because from a ten-year-old point of view he was super cute.
"Hi, I'm Martin."
"I know." Way to sound like a stalker I said in my head.
"What?" he asked a little shocked.
"I um saw your toiletry bag and it says your name on it."
"Oh, you didn't go in it did you?"
"No, no, I was just looking around and stuff."
"Ok, do you know what time it is?"
"No."
"Do you know where we are?"
"No."
"Ok," he said looking around. "I think I'm going to get ready for bed since that's like the only thing we can do."
"Ok."
"Mind if I use the bathroom first, I'll take a shower in the morning so I won't be long."
"Yea go ahead," I said motioning to the doorway.
"Ok thanks," he said and went into the bathroom. As I waited for him I realized how hungry I was. I haven't eaten since last night for dinner. I slowly walked to the door and opened it. I walked across the small hallway to knock on the SAC officers door. "Mitch!" I heard someone say. "Get the door!"
"Ok, ok I'm going." One of the SAC officers I had came here with opened the door. "What do you want?" he said in a grumbly tone.
"Ummm," I said, "I was just wondering when we're going to eat?"
"Were eating in the morning now go to bed!" and with that, he slammed the door in my face. Jezzers that guy has anger issues I thought to myself and he spits a lot too, yuck. I made my way back to my room and opened the door, Martin was already out sitting on the side of his bed studying the note. "What was that all about, I swear you could hear that guy through the whole hotel."
"Yea he got pretty mad."
"Why? What did you do?"
"I asked when we were going to eat next."
"What did he say?"
"In the morning."
"Good I'm starving, I haven't eaten since last night."
"Me too, I think I'm going to go take a shower now and get ready for bed."
"Ok, do you want me to wait up for you?"
"I don't care it's up to you."
"Ok." I went over to my bed, grabbed my pajamas, and made my way to the bathroom. When I enter it I shut the door and lock it behind me before sinking against it with my back to it and holding my knees to my chest, to just take in what had happened today. After about sitting there for five minutes, I get up, take my clothes off and climb into the shower. The water feels good against my skin, I shampoo and condition my hair, and then the tears start coming. I just stand there and let the tears run down my face, while a zillion thoughts race through my mind. I just want mom to hold me and tell me everything's going to be ok. I finally get out of the shower and do my bathroom stuff, and walk back out into the room. "I never thought you would come out of there." Martin remarks
"Haha very funny."
"You ready for bed?"
"Yea, I guess so."
"Ok." I shut the light off and climb under the covers. "Martin?" I ask softly.
"Yea?"
"Tell me about yourself."
"Ok, well I live in Davenport Iowa with my mom a Red and my dad a Yellow and my cat Lola. I like to be outdoors. When I grow up I want to be a doctor. And I am an Orange. Now it's your turn."
"Well, I live in Parma Ohio with my mom a Green and my dad a Yellow and my dog Arrow. I like to be outside too whether it's at the park, or camping, or in the garden. I don't know what I want to do when I grow up. And I am a Green. When I was done I looked over at him.

"Somehow I feel like I've known you for decades, but yet I don't." he said, "Do you know what's going to happen to us?"
"No, I'm scared."
"Don't worry, we'll be fine, now let's try to get some sleep before morning comes."
"Ok night Martin."
"Night Emma."
