~3rd POV~
"Let's go," Lila and Lulu walked down the hall, ready for whatever was going to happen.
"MERRICK HURRY UPP!" Allie screamed.
Ace in his red flannel with a black shirt underneath wearing old jeans and his battered sneakers.
Jade with his flannel and dark blue T-shirt alone with ripped jeans and black vans.
"Still trying to be an aesthetic tumblr hoe I see," Lila remarked aloud. Lulu snickered and tucked her dark hair from her face and behind her ear.
"Like you can say anything," Jade motioned to Lila's well put together outfit of well fitting ripped jeans and tie-dye hoodie crop top and vans. Lila scoffed and examined her axe. Jade turned back to Ace and gave him a meaningful kiss before punching him in the arm. "That's for earlier," she explained and the group stayed silent.
Rotters pounded at the wood set in place to keep them out. The noise echoed through the house, only attracting them more.
"Okay okay lets go," Merrick came bounding down the stairs, revolvers strapped to his sides. "I checked through the windows upstairs, and we need to start in the back yard. The fence is still holding only about five, and they haven't completely surrounded us," The group nodded. Jade used one of the two hammers held by her belt to take off the boards in the door to the backyard.
"Here let me help," Ace grabbed one of the hammers and began taking out the boards with her. He kissed the top of her head and she rolled her eyes.
"Okay, you ready?" Allie turned and looked at Merrick and he smiled.
"Of course," with that the group went out into the open.
Rotters pushes against the metal gates. Snarling and sort of arousal came from them after smelling the group's fear.
"I got the two on the right," Lila claimed swinging her axe.
"Take you pick and you know the drill, protect the garage, we're going to need to get to the cars if all goes bad," Merrick.
~Lulu's POV~
I watched as the rest of the group slaughtered the Rotters and snapped into action. Save your arrows. I thought to myself as I reached for the small dagger. Gripping the handle I walked up to a rotting blonde.
Her lips had been ripped from her face exposing her bloodstained teeth. She must have been one of the first to turn, her body was heavily decomposed from the summer heat and reeked of death. I plunged my blade into her skull and forcefully pulled it out.
"Okay! Everyone's clear?" I quickly ended the others and gave a thumbs up to Ace.
"Let's move," Merrick spoke quietly and we began creeping around the house. Allie took a small glance around to the garage, and we all held our breaths ready in anticipation. A Rotter turned the corner as Allie looked and she quickly killed it and pulled her hatchet from its skull. Unfortunately, that 20 of the 30 that I had seen only from my angle.
"F*CK FALL BACK!" Allie yelled and Merrick shot 10 as the rest of us went back inside. I turned and steadied my bow, but was grabbed around the waist my Lila and pulled inside.
"Lulu, save your arrows and let's GO!" She yelled. Entering the home we looked at each other.
"What's that nois-" the sound of wood tearing from itself and splinters hitting the ground could be heard from the front door. Lila never finished her sentence as we began hauling it upstairs. I rushed back into my room and grabbed the emergency bags from under the bed.
"Oh come on!" I groan as I see three zombies now blocking my exit. I shouldered the bags and drew my blade. "I knew it was gonna be one of those days," with that I began with the first. It's grotesque face came at me, mouth open wide. I used the bags to push it back into the other two and hopped over them. At least 10 Rotters were in the kitchen as I turned to the stairs.
"LULU COME ON!" I saw Lila at the top of the stairs when suddenly I felt a hand wrap around my ankle.
I braved myself as I fell the the floor. My dagger slid away from my hand as I kicked away at the dead's hand. It began trying to my at my foot when I finally slipped from its grip, leaving my sneaker behind and grabbing the blade.
~Lila's POV~
I watched as Lulu struggled. What do I do?! I screamed and began decending down the stairs before stopping. Fear. I could only think of those words. Luckily, Lulu slipped free and threw the bags up to me and we began running to Allie's room for shelter.
"Get in!" Ace yelled and slammed the door. There were two (three) ways to get into Allie's bedroom: her bathroom and her bedroom door (and her window if you had a ladder). Merrick pressed his back against her bedroom door as he reloaded his pistols.
"Damn," I gasped for air as I dropped the bags. Everyone seemed to have stored their emergency bags in the attic expect Lila and I. "How do we even get out?" I said wiping my forehead. The summer heat could be felt radiating from the open attic door.
"Attic," Allie and I said in unison. We turned to each other as she flashed the keys to me. The way Allie's room was composed was the second floor above the kitchen, and the attic above the garage as well as part of her room almost. The blue door leading into the attic had been lightly cracked open, probably from the immense amount of jumping and rustling around that dislodged it.
"Lila, come with me. Merrick and Ace? Stay in the doors. Jade tell us how we're looking out there, and Lulu?" I perked up as Allie shouted orders. "Grab the bags, we're leaving this joint," I shouldered and bags and went back for the others and Allie and Lila used their axe and hatchet to cut the light the attic about where the car should be.
