Chapter 16

Sevastyan was walking full speed. He took a different route so he would get to her quicker. He saw how his men moved as well.

In no time he appeared in front of her. She bumped right into his hard chest.

"I'm amazed how fast you can move in those heels"

He said as he crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"Where are you rushing off to?"

Amanda was breathing heavily. She was clearly thinking of an excuse or some lie to think of to tell Sevastyan.

"I..uh... i..."

Sevastyan stared at her down and she shook her head.

"I need to leave right now"

She tried to get past him, but he simply stood in her way not giving her any chance.

"Sevastyan please"

He shook his head.

"I can't and won't do that. Why do you want to leave"

Amanda sighed and knew this was going to be difficult. Each of the Amurov shared the same trait. They're in control. So it wasn't going to be easy to get past Sevastyan.

"I..I just saw James and I guess I freaked out"

The minute James' name was mentioned Sevastyan immediately spoke as he held the earpiece.

"Keep an eye out for James, Amanda made eye contact with him so keep him in check"

Sevastyan said.

"Who are you talking to?"

Amanda asked.

"Security. We keep you safe Amanda, so let's get back to the party and everything will be okay"

Amanda took a breath and eventually nodded and went ahead with Sevastyan.

When they got back at the table they were standing. She noticed that Roman and Viktor weren't there anymore.

"Where's Roman and Viktor"

Sevastyan put both his elbows on the table.

"Business stuff"

Amanda pressed her lips together and stopped herself from asking more about it. She seemed annoyed that he was off again for business stuff. Sevastyan took notice of that.

"He'll be back in a bit, don't worry"

Amanda looked up at him

"What makes you think i'm worried"

Sevastyan looked down at her.

"The way you are constantly fidgeting with your fingers, nervously biting your lip and i bet your heart is beating quick"

Amanda knew he was right and she hated that. She didn't answer but let out an annoying groan. She continued keeping a smile, saying "thank you to people for constantly complimenting her"

Roman opened up the file and saw more than 3 cases of human trafficking, including children ages 6. They were being shipped out to Brazil via San Antonio. Pictures were captured which were in the file.

Roman saw the condition of the kids and the men and women. It was horrible. They were in chains locked in a small room.

Roman closed the file and placed it back on the table.He looked at Tony.

"What's your next step Tony?"

Tony cleared his throat.

"I hope we can create an alliance, with your power and mines we can rescue these people and kids quicker. We can work together and save these lives. Think about it"
