I walked into first period and sat down, still listening to my music. I looked out the window and daydreamed, until I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked over to see my friend Carly. "Oh hey!" I said taking out an earbud and talking to her. The teacher started to talk after a few minutes and Carly went to her seat. I have a lot classes with Carly and we usually sit together, with other friends, if we don't have assigned seats. "Today... we are starting a new unit." The teacher said and everyone groaned.
"Hey. Want to sit over there today? Just for a change?" Carly said pointing to the back of the room, as we walked into math class. I looked over to where she was pointing and quickly looked at the people sitting there. They were maining boys and I didn't really pay attention to all of their faces. "No! That's where all the weird kids sit." David, another one of my friends, said as if they were the worst people ever. I felt bad for talking about people like that but agreed. "Yeah... no one likes them." I said quietly, hoping that they wouldn't hear.
The day went on, like any other day and it was near the end of the day. Lunch time. I walked out of my science room and refilled my water bottle. As I refilled my water bottle, I looked around and I saw a guy that looked familiar and looked so lost. I usually would have helped someone that looked lost, I know my way around the pretty well. But I all I wanted to do was refill my water bottle and go to lunch. Ally came around the corner and we walked to lunch together. When we were walking that same familiar voice for this morning mumbled "I'm just one of the weird ones." I felt bad. I was guessing it was someone from math. Ally got confused and I just told her to forget about it. Carly and David waved us over to the table they were sitting at.
I only had two more periods of the day. Gym and English. I didn't have any friends in gym class because they are all annoying people. Then came English... we had assigned seats and I sat no where near any of my friends. So the day slowly dragged on. The second the last bell rang, I put in my earbuds and quietly walked out of the room. I'm usually a social person but Ally woke me up way to early and I didn't want to talk to anyone. I think I heard that familiar voice from this morning call my name, right before my music started to play but I ignored it. I tried to put together in my mind who's voice it was.
I snapped out of thoughts, of trying to figure it out, when I got to the place Ally told me to meet her. There stood David and Ally. David smiled at me and held up his keys. I quickly turned off my music and took out my earbuds, shoving my phone and earbuds in my pocket. David jingled around the keys, out in front of him. "I can actually drive your car?!" I screamed, ripping the keys out of his hand. Before Christmas break David promised I could drive his car. I got my license not to long ago, but my family didn't trust me with their car. No one did and I didn't have the money to buy one.
