"Shailey, get up!" My brother, Alex yelled while shaking me to wake up.

"Ugh!" I grunted.

"You have to get up! It's the last day of school!" He yelled.

I leaned up, rubbed my eyes, and stretched.

He left my room so I crawled out of my comfortable, warm bed. Tear. I took a quick shower and put on my clothes. I put on a t-shirt that said, 'The buck stops here', and it was brown, then I put on my American Eagle jeans that hung perfectly over my Carolina's.

I left my hair down so it could just dry naturally. I walked down the stairs and ate some breakfast. I ate bacon, eggs, and a biscuit. I walked to the door and grabbed my backpack. I made sure everything was in there and opened the door. I walked out to the porch and put my backpack on. My bus turned down my road so I walked to the end of my driveway. The bus screeched and I hopped on.

I'm like the first one to get on the bus, then my best friend, Hayes gets on. Hayes and I have been friends ever since pre k. His mom, Elizabeth, and my mom, Veronica work together. People always think that were dating, but it's seriously nothing like that, he's just very understanding and were just really close.

I sat down in a seat near the front. I love my friends that ride my bus. They're names are Kelly, Bailey, Trey, and Jake. I plugged in my headphones into my new iPhone 5c. The doors opened and Hayes slowly dragged himself onto the bus.

"Morning." I said softly. He smiled a little and sat next to me.

"You got a new phone?" He asked.

"Yeah, after 2 years of begging." I said smiling.

He grabbed an earbud and we listened to music on the way to school.

'Animals' by Adam Levine.

'I'm on top of the world' by Imagine Dragons

Finally we arrived at school. Last day, so basically, nothing to do. First we watched some movies. Later, we ate lunch then watched one more movie. The bell rang for us to walk to the bus. Hayes' last period is across the hall from mine.

I walked to the door and walked out I to the hall as it filled up with kids like bees in a honey hive. Hayes walked out and walked beside me.

We got on the bus and got off at my house.

Hayes pushed me on the shoulder.

"Hey! Watch it, Grier!" I said jumping on his back. He stumbled and fell in the grass. I fell on top of him and just laughed.

"You suck." He said wrestling with me.

We both laid there looking at the sky.

"Shail, I need to talk to you." My mom said.

I leaned up and walked over to her.

"Come here! Okay, so today at work, I got a promotion. Instead of working here in North Carolina, we'll move to Virginia." She said excitedly.

My mouth dropped open.

"Shailey!" My mom said waving her hand in front of my face.

I just stared off thinking of my worst nightmare. Leaving my best friends, especially Hayes.

"Shailey Lynn Martin!!" She yelled.

I snapped out of it and looked at her.

"Aren't you happy?" She asked.

"New school, new friends? I don't think so." I said.

"Honey it won't be that bad!" She said.

"No! It'll be terrible!" I said.
