She stood under the umbrella, a natural symphony pouring on the top of it. She breathed in the fresh smell of rain that scented the atmosphere, her suitcases either side of her and her pack laying firmly over her shoulder and against her hip.
Her eyes took in the glassy surroundings, puddles on the road and in the gutters mirroring a blurred image of the beauty above it, looking down to see a twisted and distorted version of her looking at herself in the gutter in front of her feet, she smiled and let out a small amused chuckle from the humorous image. Her eye then caught a glimpse of a black-knight saviour strolling her way. She waved her hand up in the air and gained the driver's attention.
“Taxi!”
She called out as they pulled up, stopping right by her with the driver soon getting out afterwards.
“Would you like some assistance, ma'am?”
They offered to which she replied,
“Yes, please.”
The driver adjusted his hat, not seeming to be bothered by his increasingly wet attire from this morning's gloomy weather. He took her suitcases and clicked open the back of the taxicab, placing them in with delicacy as to not damage the passenger's belongings.
"Your pack as well, ma'am?”
He offered to which she shook her head in decline.
“No, it’s quite alright. I can hold onto it, thankyou.”
He nodded in understanding, almost losing his hat in the process which he quickly fixed up on top of his messy head of hair, slightly dripping wet. He continued towards her door and opened it for her as she smiled at the kind driver and headed into the car, shaking her umbrella off before putting it away. The driver shut her door behind her and returned to his own seat, getting in and turning back to her,
“Where to, ma'am?”
“Luton Airport, thankyou.”
She replied as she got comfortable in her seat, feeling the purr of the car's engine before they pulled out of the gutter and went on their way to her destination. She watched outside the window as water trickled quickly down the window, the wind assisting the water droplets' journey to reach the bottom of the surface. The lights from passing cars lit the area up with a shade of white while the streetlights overheard turned areas orange, red lighting up the road once the cars passed and their back lights trailed in the puddles. Although it didn’t get much sun, London had its own quaint beauty. She sat her hands gently in her lap, her fingers intertwining with one another to sit comfortably atop her long jacket.
