Chapter 9 » the one behind Captain's memory loss

Shin Miyagi was an exuberant girl. She was full of energy and sitting in one place made her extremely restless. Though there weren't any other options since she was injured and therefore bedridden. Her boyfriend constantly kept checking up on her but that only lasted for a few minutes. He had work to do after all.

At least she was lucky enough to have her other injured teammates in the same room. Since the SSC were prepared when going to missions and barely had any injured people, the base never had a very big infirmary. The magnitude of the battle was a very large one and it had been an ambush which resulted in many SSC getting injured. As they had less rooms available, they made them share. Though why the medics had stopped Red Knights, Shin would never understand since they could do bed rest in their rooms as well. It was as if they didn't want them to go out.

However, Shin was never one to dwell on things and soon found herself chatting with her teammates. "When can we get out of this dreaded place? All it smells of is disinfectants!" It was true. The team was so agitated with the smell that they had even tried to escape. That had ended up in a mess because as soon as they thought they were in safe territory, they met a very Angry Saryuu. If it was one thing, the leader was not at all amused by the Red Knights escapade. Hence, here they were, back in their hospital room, with guards at the doors to prevent them from running away.

"I don't know. Your boyfriend never answers us," Ian joked.

"Hey! He doesn't know that's why! Saki never hides anything from me," she humphed making the team laugh. "And please Ian, everybody knows that you're just jealous of Saki because he's got such an awesome girlfriend." This started a pointless banter between the two of them.

"Don't you think it's weird that Tenma hasn't visited us yet?" Youngsuk, absolutely ignoring them, pointed out. He had several IVs attached to him and was pulling at them in annoyance. Belvian slapped his hand to stop him. They were there to nourish his exhausted body anyway.

"Who knows. Maybe he just doesn't care," Nyx responded, a little put out by the thought of it.

"Well, maybe Captain's just busy with the construction?" Mio, who had a bandage on her forehead said.

"I don't know, Mio. It doesn't seem like Tenma's around. It seems as if... he's not there at all," Keiji stated, a little lost in thought.

That was the exact time Misaki chose to enter the room. He entred the chamber in a lazy manner of walking and gave a two fingered salute to the team, while his eyes crinkled due to his smile, "Yo!" Looking at the serious atmosphere in the room though, he whistled. "What died in here?"

Shin smiled at him, as he gave her a kiss on the cheek. "Saki, what's going on with Tenma? Why hasn't he visited us yet?" Sadness made its way into her voice, and it seemed really forlorn.

Misaki sighed. "I was told of his condition just today." Their eyes lit up at the news. Or maybe it was just because they were gossips, who knew. "He is in critical condition right now. I thought he was just out on missions seeing how powerful he really is, but turns out he's in a coma. A drug induced one, to be exact.

"The power he used that night," the team knew what he was talking about; they'd seen the CCTV footage of that night. "That power was too much for his body. It wasn't prepared enough to take the strain and therefore when it came out full force, every muscle, every part of his body was torn apart from both, the inside and out.

"Thankfully, the same power helps him heal really fast. Unfortunately, it is really painful. The healing is quick but because all the tendons and muscles are being joined with the bone again, its hurts a lot. Therefore, Giris concluded that if he was aware of the suffering of his injuries, it would hurt more so they'll keep him in a semi-conscious state. Where his body will work normally but his mind would be absolutely numb."
