I woke up with a heavy yawn, drowsily shaking the din out of my eyes. I mutter to myself, sliding out of my bed.
As I left my room I saw the hatchling attempting to make eggs using fire magic. Great, as soon as I got up the hatchling is already about to burn down the entire apartment complex.
"Kid," I started, "that really isn't how you cook eggs."
They dropped the pan, having probably not heard me coming in. The eggs pretty much exploded, making a massive mess... I was surprised that the pan actually survived the fall, though it was more like a mouse's roof now. A heavy sigh escaped my chest, and being recharged from my night's rest I simply waved my hand, the pan correcting itself and going into a cupboard.
The hatchling watched silently, then blatantly said, "That was cool." I shrugged it off and sat down. I started to think about what to do... It seemed massive, with how much it costed for travel and the fact that no magic could be used in public without them knowing... At least for now. I just had to hope that there were less hatchlings since I told the clan not to do so until I gave the thumbs-up... So much to do in such little time.
Yet again, the hatchling shook me out of that. I looked at them and sighed again. "Sit down, I would like to tell you some things," I tell them in a fairly melancholy tone.
They do so, appearing attentive on the "couch." I glance around and start, "Okay, so before we move on I need a name to call you.. Other than your real name." I start to think about what to name them...
They pipe up, "How about Sorian?"
I smiled. "Sure, Sorian." I pause for a bit. "Okay, so we need to figure out how to contact the whole clan... I lost contact about 10 years back, just to hide the fact that us dragons are, indeed, alive. On the way I can teach you a few more things about magic and dragon culture."
Sorian smiled, looking awfully excited.
Time to begin.
