It is May 25, 2018. It is the last day of 10th grade. I Amber Yvonne Janaé McQueen Sierra Harris, go to Atlantic Coastal High. I was walking out of Mrs. Rodgers class into a battle field of running teenagers and school papers with my best friends, Jayla Rhodes and Nzinga Jones. Today we were wearing our favorite outfits like we have been doing on the last day of school for the past 12 years. Jayla was 5'11. She was on the volleyball and track team. She wore a 23 Chicago Bulls muscle tank with white skinny jeans and red, black, and white Jordans, with her hair in a messy bun. I was wearing a black sweater with forest green overalls, and 2 inch black wedges. My hair was in a high ponytail on the top of my head, yet my hair still reached the bottom of my back. I was on the volleyball team and captain of the dance team; I was 5'6 which is pretty tall for my short family. Nzinga was a 5'5 track star. She wore a long-sleeved green and white ombre shirt with black heart in the middle, green cargo pants, and black and whit high tops. Her hair was in sister locks underneath her backwards white and black hat.

Back to the story. While walking out of the room, everyone was doing the usual: dumping all things school related away. The three of us managed to get to our lockers and undecorated them. Close behind us were our boyfriends, Arik and Aionis. Arik was Jayla's and Aionis was mine. This summer was going to be awesome. "Hey guys," the two boys said in unison.

"I can't wait 'till tomorrow!" Nzinga excitedly screamed as we walked to our cars.

This summer we were going to Hawaii for the whole vacation with no supervision. School didn't start back until August 20, so we would be in Hawaii for more than 2 months! I rode home in my black 4-wheeled pick up truck. I for real packed my WHOLE closet. Because Jayla's and my cars were shipped to Hawaii, Arik picked up Jayla, Nzinga drove, and Aionis picked me up in his green Mustang. Surprisingly he was able to fit all 10 of my bags in the trunk and his 6 in the back seat. We met everyone at the airport and the first thing I said was, "Who gonna get my bags?" After and hour and a half of security checks and an hour delay, we were able to board the plane. "Passengers for flight 356 may now board the plane and sorry for the delay."

They finally call our area, and we board the plane. I have a window seat next to Jayla and Nzinga while the boys are further up in another row. I pulled the pink pillow with the names of my best friends from middle school on it, closer to my neck. Jayla was sitting next to me earphones in listening to music. She also was reading a book she has been reading for the past two weeks. Nzinga was next to her texting her boyfriend who just got excepted to Dartmouth and was a freshman there. A preppy, blonde flight attendant came up to us. "Please turn all devices off. We do not want to cause any turbulence," she said with a fake smile plastered on her face. We all turned our devices off and decided to go to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of people chatting and a pair of soft lips on my forehead. "Morning Sleeping Beauty."

"Hey! When did you get here?"

"We were allowed to get up and turn electronics on a while ago. Jayla wanted to be with Arik, so we switched seats."

He pulled out his computer and I made him watch musicals that I brought. I leaned my head against his chest. We were all comfortable until that stupid snob of a flight attendant came and interrupted us. "Would you like some pretzels?" She said with that stupid fake smile of hers. Ughhh! Did I already say how much I hate her guts?! "No thank you," I said as I plastered one of my most fakest smiles on my overly annoyed face. "Ok. Have a good flight." She walked away and I could've sworn she scoffed at me. "You don't like her very much don't you?" I rolled my eyes and laid my head back on his chest. I don't know how long we sat like that, but next thing you know I was fast asleep again.

"Amber! Wake the hell up!" I felt like a million hands shaking me and two even slapped me which was probably Jayla. "I'm up," I muttered while I sat up. Aionis helped me out my seat, I got my carry on items, and headed out off the plane. We headed towards baggage claim to claim our baggage (See what I did there😜. Oh too cheesy? Well whatever😒.). We caught a taxi to the cabin house.
