"So all this stuff is mine" I asked looking into one of six large boxes

I picked a black lace crop top.

"Yeah, Jace didn't have the heart to get rid of it" Izzy acknowledged raiding one of the boxes.

She gasped I sadness. I turned around to see Izzy arched over a silver photo frame.

"Izzy are you okay" I said cautiously.

She looked up at me, her brown eyes red from crying with a glimmer of tears.

"I'm sorry" she apologized, her throat clogged by tears.

"Izzy you have nothing to apologize about" I comforted her.

She picked the picture up.

The picture was of Izzy and I standing cheek to cheek. Izzy's hands wrapped around my neck pulling me closer to her. My arm went around her back. I had long Jett black hair that was in a side ponytail falling on my black tshirt.

"This picture was taken the day before you... died, I wanted to get a picture with my twin as the last day of you being a Lightwood. If I had known that you would..." she broke of in tears.

I pulled her onto me, her tears fell onto my top.

"Izzy its not your fault that this happened" I comforted her. I could tell that Izzy wasn't usually the type of person who broke down like this but yet I was her twin sister.

She pulled away from me.

"A few years you asked me to be your parabatai and I said no"

I looked at her sideways.

"Parabatai are two close people who are connected by more than blood, it's a sacred connection that makes them inseparable and whatever one feels then the other feels"

"Ohhh" I gasped.

"If we were parabatai then I could tell that you were alive, Jace wouldn't have been heartbroken, Alec could've taken a break knowing that you were alive and I could finally sleep"

"Or you could've felt everything I felt and worse, you could've died" I said "then how do you think I would've felt if you had died"

I hugged Izzy, her jet black hair flowing to my face.

Izzy pulled away and picked up a silver bracelet. A long vine with leaves that looked like blades.

"What is that" I asked her.

"Its your weapon. It's a whip like mine" she said lifting her arm up to reveal a silver serpent hugging her arm."we chose them when we were younger, we made a pact to train with it everyday and that's what we did"

A smile crept onto her face. I moved over to her and the whip and glided my fingers over it.

"Its beautiful" I gasped.

"Its yours" she handed the vine to me "take her for a spin"

My hand gripped the end of the whip which embraced my hand. The leaves collapsed in onto the whip until they were nothing but a smooth texture. I cracked it on the ground as hard as I could in doing so knocked over a small red vase.

"You may need a bit of practice" she laughed.

"You think" I said sarcastically.

We laughed together. A small twinge feeling erupted in my gut like dajavu. Like a small memory.

A small blonde head popped around the side of the door.

"Em, Clary needs you. Something about some guy named Max"

That happy twinge turned into a twinge of guilt. I had forgotten to pick Max up.

"Crap" I ran out of the room to find Clary standing there. She wore a small black leather skirt and a top that showed of way too much of her breasts.

I chuckled at her.

"Oh shut up" she said slapping me in my gut. "Simon found us, and Max is with him"

I closed my eyes and sighed.

"Let's go" I sighed and opened my eyes. Clary, Jace and i walked out of the institute to see Simon running up to Clary and Max with his arms crossed.

"I was so worried about you guys, what happened" Simon asked with a worried tone in his voice.

Max walked over to me "what happened to picking me up. Instead you decide to come to a haunted church with your pet owner dressing as a prostitute"

"I'm sorry, things got complicated" i said glancing down at my hands. I glanced over at Simon who had his mouth pushed so far closed I was afraid he was going to break his teeth.

"I don't care how complicated things get, I'm your boyfriend which means when I say pick me up you pick me up" he glanced at Jace.

"And who is this, your side piece" he spat.

Something deep inside me wrenched at the thought of someone being rude towards Jace.

"Shut up! Don't talk about him like that!" I yelled before I could stop myself.

"You are such whore" he raised his voice. "You don't deserve me"

Suddenly he was on the floor holding his bloody nose. Jace had punched him and wrapped his arms around my waist.

"No you asshole, you don't deserve her" he said and started to pull me towards the institute. I kept watching Jace as we went inside.

"I know I'm hot when I'm mad but you don't have to stare" he said not looking me in the eye. Simon and Clary were walking behind us. I heard Simon question Clary about things hastily.

"Thank you Jace" I said and stopped. "No one has ever stood up for me like that"

His golden eyes reflected the surprise and unknown feeling of safety. But there was also hurt in them that I saw everytime he looked at me. I knew at that moment that he needed me.

"Jace, I need to tell you something"

"Go for it"

"I remember our wedding"
