Somebody to Love

Part 2

As Roger opened the door, he was greeted with the sound of opera music blaring on the radio.

"TURN IT OFF!!" Roger shouted

Freddie turned around from his inventory work.

"WHAT?! WHY? IT'S A GOOD SONG!" Freddie asked

"IT'S TOO LOUD!! I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!" Roger shouted

Freddie said something along the lines of "Darling, you don't have to yell at me. I can hear you just fine." but Roger couldn't hear him because of the music.

"WHAT?!" Roger asked with his ears plugged

Freddie walked over to the radio and turned it off.

Then he removed Roger's hands from his ears.

"I said I CAN HEAR YOU JUST FINE!!" Freddie said

Roger yelped and covered his ears up again.

"That should teach you to come in here and shout at me while I'm working. What did you want to talk about anyway?" Freddie asked as he leaned on a nearby wooden crate someone had left about 2 weeks and 3 days ago when Roger was running the store by himself.

"Your daughter won't stop crying!" Roger said "I tried feeding her. But she just went back to wailing her head off at me and Brian!"

"Brian's here? I thought we would never get to leave!" Freddie said as he stood up and walked out of the tiny inventory room

"Fred wait!" Roger said as he followed him "I'm trying to say that I don't know what to do next. How do I get Bijou to stop crying?"

Both of them stopped in the archway to see Brian with a now sleeping Bijou in his arms.

"She's fine, dear. Nothing to worry about." Freddie said

"WHAT?!" Roger asked in shock almost waking Bijou from her slumber

Freddie shot Roger a dirty look then ran over to Brian who carefully handed little Bijou over without disturbing her.

Little Bijou had gone back to sleep once placed in her pram.

Then, the phone rang.

"I'll answer it." Roger said to Freddie who was now focused on trying to get Bijou to stay asleep long enough for them to leave and go to the recording studio

Roger then picked up the phone and said "Hello?"

"Hello sir! Is your refrigerator running?" said the person on the other end

It took a while for Roger to recognize the voice.

Then it hit him.

"Deaky? Is that you? Why are you calling from a telephone box?" Roger asked

"Where are you? Miami's going to explode when he finds out that we're going to be late." John said

"We're on our way out. Freddie is just buckling his baby into the pram." Roger replied

John sighed. He decided to say nothing about the issue of Freddie bringing Bijou to the studio since in the first few days of having her home, Freddie was locked out of the apartment on several occasions by Mary after coming back from taking Bijou to the shop with him. One day after Roger discovered a couple of boxes with baby clothes and toys on the table at the shop (along with a bassinet by the door), he decided to tell Freddie about it. And after that, he moved out of the apartment. And since then, he and little Bijou had moved in with Roger (who sometimes assumed the role of "babysitter" whenever Freddie needed a break)

"I see. Alright. I'll see you later then." John said before he hung up

Later at the studio, Roger and Brian were ignoring John staring at them as they were literally snogging each other with their eyes.

Both of them had been doing this for over 30 minutes now and it seemed like the only way to get them to stop was to send one of them in for recording.

Thank God Freddie was done recording vocals in time to see this.

"What's wrong with them?" he asked as he sat next to John who had Bijou in his lap happily playing with a rattle while sucking on a pacifier

"They've been stuck like that for 30 minutes! I'm going to try to snap them out of it." John said as he passed Bijou over to Freddie and got up

"Are you sure that's a good idea, love?" Freddie asked as he adjusted Bijou's candy stripe dress with lollipops on the front

"I'm sure they would do the same to us if we were stuck staring at each other like that." John said

Freddie laughed a little about that as he pictured Roger trying to snap him and John out of the same trance Brian and Roger seemed to be in.

But just as John approached the two lovebirds, Roger jumped into Brian's lap and attacked him with kisses.

Then in mid-snog, Brian and Roger looked up at John who had been standing over them trying not to laugh.

"Hey Deaky! What's up?" Roger asked

"Can we please get back to work?" John said

Roger and Brian just looked at each other.

"Alright. We'll do this later." Brian said to Roger

Roger sighed.

"Alright Bri." he replied before kissing the taller man on the cheek and going to record the backing vocals

"What was all that?" Freddie asked

Brian was clueless.

"All what?" he asked

"Don't play dumb, Brian. There's something going on between you and Roger, isn't there?" John asked

"I don't know what you're talking about." Brian said

"You know exactly what we're talking about! We saw Roger jump into your lap and kiss you." Freddie said as he distracted Bijou with her rattle

"That?! Oh he was just playing around." Brian said "You know how he gets after a few drinks."

"But, he hasn't been drinking all day." Freddie said (something that surprised even himself)
