Ring ding ding!"

Erika's alarm went off, and she checked the time ---it was 7:45 am. Her alarm had rang for five times already.

She unwillingly left her fluffy bed, brushed her teeth, then changed into her white hoodie and tied her electric purple hair into a loose bun.

She wasn't some diva glee princess. She nearly scoffed at the thought. She just needed to look normal and casual.

She sighed as she opened the door to her room. She didn't want to go to school.

It wasn't like she had bad grades, or she wasn't popular. She was smart and treated people the way they wanted to be treated. She had lots of friends.

The reason she didn't want to go to school was because of one person.

Carter McKeen.

For years, everyone at school thought that they were the perfect couple. They thought that the two rivals should be together.

Yes, you heard right.

Rivals.

Erika hated Carter. Very much.

Reason?

He likes coming out of nowhere and putting her down, making stupid jokes and teasing her about one thing or another.

But somehow the whole school thinks that they are a match made in heaven.

She quickly grabbed her bag and lunch off the table, and met up with her best friends outside.

Her best friends Skylie and Skyler Wisteria are twins, and they are both crazy and creative.

They both have light tawny hair, but Skylie had cyan tips.

Skylie wore a white sweater with black stripes, complete with a white skirt and black leather shoes. Skyler wore a casual white t-shirt and denim jacket and jeans.

"Are you ready for school?" Skylie asked. Erika nodded.

"Are you ready to see Carter?" Skyler teased smugly, and Erika kicked hin in the shins. Skyler howled in pain. It wasn't a strong kick, but it was enough to leave a bruise.

"Did you have to do that?" Skyler protested, rubbing his shins.

Erika promptly crossed her arms and walked towards the bus, which was parked next to the bus stop. "Let's go."

They went on the bus and found seats. Skyler slid next to a boy with reddish-brown hair and eyes. He wore a black hoodie and jeans and was listening to music on headphones.

"Hey, Zayne." Skyler greeted him. "Haven't seen you all summer."

Zayne just smiled faintly and looked out the window.

"I don't know why Skyler is friends with Zayne." Skylie whispered to Erika as they sat in the seats behind Skyler and Zayne. "That just pulls his coolness down by at least two tiers in the coolness ladder."

"Don't be rude." Erika scolded.

She didn't know what the 'coolness ladder' was until Skylie told her. It was used to rate the 'coolness' of people.

The highest tier, the S tier, is the tier for the most popular people in school. Erika and Skylie are both at the top of the tier.

The next tier, the A tier, was for the people who were mostly friendly and cool. Carter McKeen was in this tier due to his weirdness and jokes.

The third teir, the B tier, was for the people who were not so popular but friendly.

And the last tier, which was also known as 'Zayne's tier', was for the distant people. They were usually introverts, unsocial, and unpopular. They are also known as the 'creepy people who don't talk'.

After half an hour on the bus, they arrived at school. On their way to their classrooms, many people greeted them.

"Hey, Erika! Nice hairstyle!"

"Cool hair, Skylie. The blue hair really suits you."

"Eri! You look extra cute today!"

"Hey Skylie. I hope we can share tables this year!"

"Hey Eri! I asked my whole family to follow you on social media!"

Now that is just weird so Adelina, the writer of this chapter is backing away sloooooooooowly.

I didn't ask you to write this I only edited it dude.

As they entered the classroom, the teacher clapped her hands to get the class' attention.

"Alright class. I've already arranged the seats for you, to stop you lot from squabbling." The teacher glanced at Carter meaningfully. "Now check the blackboard and find your seats."

Skyler found his seat behind Zayne, and Erika was devastated to be sitting next to Zayne. Carter sat in front of Erika, much to her disappointment, and when Skile found out she would be sitting next to Carter, she squealed.

"Carter is the most hansome boy in our grade!" Then she blushed and teased Erika, "But he's yours, of course."

After some random skips...

I do not approve.

"Zayne Arens."

Erika looked at him, and he immediately put down the pen he was using to doodle on his notebook.

He walked up the teacher and took his file, then resumed to do whatever he was doing.

Even I don't know.

Probs writing stuff to the Anti-Social Social Club.

After the lesson, Erika went to her locker to drop off her textbooks. Zayne's locker was just next to hers, and he didn't even give her a glance, in contrast to all the others in school.

Erika ignored him and went to her locker, thinking of how to decorate it.

Blue with galactic purple fades? Pink and white zigzag stripes? A DIY washi tape mix with a bestie picture?

All these cute thoughts popped into her head as she blurted out excitedly, "Blue, purple, pink and white stripes with crazy washi tape and a bestie pic, adding a whoop of sharpies!"

She noticed that Skylie had said the exact same thing, only with different colours.

"Great minds think alike." Skylie quipped, grinning.

Zayne snickered quietly, but Skylie's sharp ears caught it. She glared at him, but didn't say anything.

"Let's go meet Skyler in the playground." Skylie said, turning her back on Zayne and walking off with Erika.

Zayne sighed and closed his locker. "Girls." He shook his head.

It turned out Skyler was talking to Zayne, who had appeared in the playground before them.

"Let's go somewhere else." Skylie snorted, remembering Zayne's snicker.

Erika nodded, and with one last look at Zayne, left with Skylie to talk with some new 7th grade girls.

Meanwhile, Skyler asked Zayne, "Answer me honestly. Have you considered making friends?"

Zayne shook his head.

"Of course." Skyler sighed. "Why don't you have any friends?"

"Why not?" Zayne retorted.

Skyler sighed. He wanted to help his friend, but it wasn't easy when your friend didn't want help.

"Well, let's find you some friends." Skyler told Zayne.

"And we start today."
