It was the day of the event! You woke up before your alarm and got ready. Once it was all done you had a proper breakfast and bolted out the door.

Throughout the past two weeks you didn't help midoriya train his quirk as all might said to you before

Flash back of the beginning of the two weeks~

All might: you two will train with each other just not now. I'd like to see how you two work right now.

You were all at the beach.

Midoriya: but what if I break! I want to be the best at the event!

All might: I understand but let's see how you do with training your quirk on your own first. Also (y/n)?

All might: try your hardest too. I won't let you try my quirk yet since I want to see how you can manage without midoriya.

As you're running down the streets you see shoto running too. You both glance at each other and pick up the pace. Soon enough you made it first and are barely breaking a sweat.

(y/n): I WIN I WIN!

Shoto: yea yea... He holds his knees panting.

Everyone goes to the stadium area and gets suited up in their sports uniform.

You stand next to shoto and think about your objectives.

1) make sure you show your strengths and very few weaknesses.

2) try to be funny throughout it all. Sir night eye and possibly Mirio is watching you.

3) get second place no matter what, no more no less. Even if it means losing to shoto.

Soon enough you space out on how to do all this and missed the conversation between shoto and Midoriya.

IT'S TIME!

As you all walk out you have a smile on your face. Gotta start the silly now.
The stadium has hundreds of people and you can't help but try to look for sir night eye and mirio if possible. To your luck you hear your cousins distinct voice calling out your name. You look and see him have a shirt with your name on it and a huge foam finger saying number one hero.

Mirio: GO (y/n)! YOU GOT THIS CUZ! you smile and wave.

Midnight says Katsus and your names. As you both walk up you hear people mudder things.

"Why them? "

"Shouldn't it just be one? "

"They both tied in the entrance exam remember! "

"I thought she was a recommended student? "

Katsu goes first.

Katsu: all I have to say.... Is that I'm gonna win.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOO! yells the crowd.

(y/n): Uuhuuh.... Good luck everyone? You shrug and smile nervously. I mean how do you say something after that. They set some smaller boos but still. Ouch.

You sulk off fearing people's gazes on you. Specifically sirs.

You both step off the stage and listen to midnight.

Midnight: well with that out of the way let's see what is the prelims are gonna be. This is what brings tears to people's eyes every year! And it's this!
She points to the huge screen that says obstacle course. All 11 classes will be against each other!

You turn around and see a gate open. You get ready to go.

And everyone starts running! Soon everyone gets stuck but you force your way through with ease. Shoto ices everyone and you avoid it by jumping. You run through his ice and catch up to him.

(y/n): nice weather were having huh! You smile. He stares confused. You both see mineta behind you but he gets hit by a bot before anything happens.

Multiple bots are around and you see a huge one like at the exams. Shoto freezes it and you punch its leg. You see Katsu fly over it and soon it starts to fall. You keep running and hear a loud bam behind you.

You see a bunch of pillars with tight ropes connecting them. You see shoto using his ice to go across and you just run across them again with ease. You've had much harder obstacle courses in your life. You even decide to do a few tricks. Sometimes you'd walk on your hands or swing across them and some how you were still tied with shoto.

You start picking up the pace as you feel Katsu closing the gap between you. You get ahead of shoto and see the next obstacle is a mine field. You maneuver through and don't hit any but you see shoto and Katsu side by side. Soon you lose sight if what's in front of you and hit a mine. You hit both of them but all of you get up fast enough and are tied.

Katsu: YOU AREN'T BEATING ME DIP SHIT AND HALF AND HALF!

Shoto: nghhhh!

(y/n): WELL SHIT WHY AM I IN THE MIDDLE! you hear a loud bang and see midoriya fly above you and he uses a weird plank as a foot hold on top of you three. He gets ahead and you pick up the pace but feel a small sting in your eyes. Must've been the mine! You fall back a bit and see the other two boys pass you up. Soon enough midoriya ends up first shoto second Katsu third and you fourth with all your classmates and some coming from behind. You rub you eyes and stomp.

(y/n): AH THEY BURN LIKE HELL YO! Katsu looks at you and comes closer.

Katsu: you alright cute face?

(y/n): gtfo bro remember your promise. I told you we are rivals not friends lovers nothing got it. You stare through waters eyes. He feels a sharp pain in his heart. Not a feeling he likes. Also don't call me cute face today cause ima call you ass rag today cause you called me dip shit already. You point to your eyes then his. I'M WATCHING ASS RAG. you walk away.
