The world of The Queen's War is much like our own but has been inspired by multiple cultures and multiple time periods. I have done my best to try to be respectful of all the cultures and narratives that have inspired me while also allowing my creativity to guide me. I have combined elements of many places and times in order to create an interesting world for my characters' story to play out.
This story, however, does deal with some historical and present-day realities such as slavery, rape, murder, and the sexual exploitation of women and children. My aim is never to cast any one people or culture in a negative light, but to tell a story that is realistic despite the obvious fictionalized elements. I hope you enjoy this ambitious project of mine. Thank you in advance for your support.
