"Bang!" Robin felt the gun explode in his hand, the crack breaking the silence of the café. He laughed as the owner's wife set into panic mode — she couldn't save her husband. He's already dead.
As Robin stalked out of the run-down Brooklyn café, his hood hiding his face, the owner's money in his bag, he thought of why he started doing this. His father winning the lottery was his ticket out of a dead-end life, surrounded by idiots and hopeless cases. He now believed that everyone of poor social status, or monetary situation, deserved to be there. Obviously, they were poor because they didn't try in life.
Pulled out of his thoughts by sirens, Robin jumped into his convertible and sped off to his penthouse. He couldn't deal with being caught — he'd lose his life of money, cars and fame.
~~~
Big John was climbing onto Robin's tallest chair to try to reach Robin's chocolate stash as his small stature made life difficult. Robin decided to play a game with his friend, pulled out his gun against his friends back, and in a low voice said, "Put your hands behind your head and turn around."
John was turning around calmly, his wide eyes the only indication that he was afraid. As soon as Big John saw who it was, he swore and hit Robin, who burst out laughing and put the gun away.
Once John calmed down and learned how much money they had gotten out of the stick up, they began to plan the special events for the Medieval Day Festival. They wanted to create a little mayhem and wanted some money for their endeavours.
~~~
A few days later as Robin waltzed into the festival and found the archery competition, he started to laugh. He pointed out to John that the young woman from the orphanage was raising funds for cancer research.
Robin couldn't believe that an orphan was pretending to care about cancer to get money. He knew that no person, let alone an abandoned orphan would care about other people enough to make a difference. Marian, the orphan wouldn't give the money to research, she would keep it for herself.
~~~
An hour into the competition, Robin and Marian were in the grand finale. Mary went first and shot well, getting one inner yellow ring, and two outer yellow rings. Robin's turn was next, and he shot three perfect arrows, straight into the tiny X in the middle.
"Ha! Beat that!" Robin shouted, "You'll never win anything!" Marian endured his yelling, her shaking hands the only indication she heard him. Her gaze never wavered as she calmly congratulated Robin and walked away.
~~~
Robin was angry. He did all this to get a reaction. Anything! Not calm, good sportsmanship. As he started shaking, John caught Robin's eye and calmly pulled out his gun, he knew Robin would never let some little brat get away without being hurt. John started shooting.
Screams and cries for help were everywhere as Robin and Big John wandered around, guns in hand, shooting at everything that moved.
Sirens were heard, but Robin wanted to find Marian. She deserved to pay for how she acted. Running, he realised she had escaped. He quickly headed to the gates but was too late. Robin was surrounded and quickly shoved in a police car.
~~~
Robin was getting bored. The guards didn't have a sense of humour and were threatening to put him into the solitary if he kept antagonising his other prison mates. He had been waiting for John to come and get him, but now thought he might have to get out himself.
Whilst he was thinking this John was attaching a bomb to the cell wall. The loud noise and shock waves hit Robin, forcing him into to his feet. Robin ran out of the cell, before the guards came to investigate.
"Took you long enough." Robin quipped.
"Oi! You try to break into a maximum-security prison in three days." Big John fired back.
Big John and Robin ran out of the compounds into a white prison van.
~~~
Once Robin was back in clean clothes, he, Big John and Little John — a close friend of Big John's — began to plan a fake trail leading to Switzerland and fake identities. They didn't want to move far, so also started planning a new life in Philadelphia and maybe to get Marian.
