Chapter 5: Whoa

Did that really just happen.

I can't believe it.

Zig Novak said I was his girlfriend.

While beating up Cooper.

"So" Zig said while turning to face me. "You're gonna be my new girlfriend. Got it?"

"Wait.....WHAT! So you expect me to just fall to your feet and say yes?" I say, quite annoyed.

"Pretty much, princess" He said confidently. "And what makes you so sure?" I fire back.

"Because it is an honor just to be considered by me" I roll my eyes. Are you serious! Of all the hunks that could've saved me, I got the one with a giant ego and don't think that you're off the hook, fate, because you gave me the hunkiest hunk.

"Hello! Earth to the princess!" A deep voice brings me back from my thoughts.

"You're such a space cadet" he said

"Don't call me a space cadet or a princess because I am neither!" I say trying to be cool and intimidating, but I think I looked like a constipated, angry duck.

"Back to the matter at hand" he starts, "you're gonna be my girlfriend NO COMPLAINTS" he said angrily.

"Why does it matter to you" I ask. "Because I want to get revenge on Cooper!" He replies.

"Well why did you get me involved you could have just gotten revenge on him some other way. I'm surprised you even know my name! You haven't payed any attention to me since the 6th grade!" I said confused.

"Well you're the best way to get revenge on him" he states "and I have payed attention to you. I think I said hi to you one time in 7th grade" he says while scratching the back of his neck awkwardly.

"You didn't say hi to me, you yelled at me for nudging you in the shoulder by accident in the hallway. Which by the way didn't do anything to you, but I dropped all my books but you wouldn't know because you didn't even look back" I ranted.

"Sorry" he said awkwardly.

"Little too late" I said sarcastically.

I start walking away, but two hands grab my waist and I am pulled into Zig's chest. I could feel his hot breath on my neck.

"Come on princess" he whispered, "it'll be fun". I struggled against him but his hands stayed put.

"If I say yes will you let me go" I ask, annoyed and not thinking about what I was saying.

"Great! Now your my girlfriend" he says happily, but not like happy, happy more like a sick, evil happy.

Wait....did I just say yes?

*SECOND PERIOD*
I walk into math class, hoping this will go by fast. Math isn't my best subject.........plus I hate it with a passion. Luckily, Edward and grace are in this class, if they weren't I think I wouldn't survive.

"Take your seats class" Mr. Myers says to the talking class. Everyone starts heading towards their seats, luckily Zig isn't in this class and neither is Cooper. Cue internal sigh of relief.

I go and seat in between Edward and Grace.

"Hey guys" I whisper to my desk neighbors. I decided I wouldn't tell them about Zig yet. I think it is a lunch time matter.

"Hey" Grace responds and smiles.

"Hello! Earth to Edward!" I say while laughing quietly.

"Oh! sorry what were you saying?" Edwards replies, sheepishly.

"I was saying hello!" I say back. "Oh sorry I was just lost in thought I guess" he replies, still not fully paying attention.

"Ok class take out your math notebook" Mr. Myers says. Wow the first day of school and we're already working!

*LUNCH*
I walk into the cafeteria and my eyes find Grace. I walk over to her.

"Where's Edward?" I ask curiously. "I don't know, I haven't seen him" Grace replies looking a bit worried.

"Well I need to talk to you guys. It's really important!" I say anxiously. "Ok, I'll go find him" Grace says and hurries off.

I get out my lunch only to be greeted with the dark eyes of Zig.

"Hey, babe" he says while smirking.

"Please don't call me babe, it makes me feel uncomfortable." I say awkwardly.

"Sorry.... babe" he says, with an even bigger smirk. I just roll my eyes.

"I'm gonna take you home today, so wait for me after school" he says.

"It's ok Grace or Edward will drive my home" I say.

"Too bad, I'm gonna take you home!" he says slightly annoyed, "plus I live next to you". He does have a point.

"Fine" I say annoyed. At that he walks away to the popular table, soon being swarmed by girls.

"OMG! Did Zig just talk to you! As in Zig Novak!" I hear a squeal and turn my head to find Grace standing there smiling and next to her a frowning Edward.

"Yep, that's what I wanted to talk to you about" I say. I start explaining them everything that happened and Grace is just smiling the whole time, even through the fight part!

"OMG! NO, FREAKING, WAY!" Grace says VERY excitedly. "I TOTALLY SHIP Y'ALL!"

"Wow, all that happened TODAY! Its only the first day of school!" Edward says in awe.

"I know! Why does my life have to be so dramatic!" I say.

"So you're his girlfriend now?" Edward asks.

"Ya, I guess so. But I don't even want to be!" I respond.

"Well tell him that!"Edward almost yells while slamming his fist down on the table."I'm sorry, I have to go" he hurriedly walks out of the lunch room.

"Whoa what was that?" I say, puzzled.

"Isn't it obvi!" Grace says smiling like a lunatic,"he likes you!" she finishes

No way does he like me, right? We're just friends, he knows that. Okay actually this is the best thing ever! I mean IF he actually likes me, he's like a brother to me, this could just be protectiveness not jealousy. Or maybe all this time it has been jealousy! I have had a crush on him since we met in the sixth grade, but I never thought he liked me back.

"I totally ship you guys!" Grace says happily.

"I thought you ship Zig and I" I say laughing.

"Ugh! Now I don't know who to ship!" She says frustrated, which made me smile more because the whole time she looked like a constipated duck and was mumbling ship names.

" Zigie or lilward" Grace mumbled.

"Those are terrible ship names" I laughed.

"I'm still working on it!" Grace responds, annoyed that I interrupted her thinking.
