Chapter 10

Alexandra

I wake up cuddled into a pillow. I shoot up and look around, where's Nik? I toss the comforter off, swing my legs over the bed and fall straight to the ground. Shit, forgot about that. "MOM! NIK! HELP ME!" The door opens but I can't see who it is since I fell on the other side and the bed blocks my view. "Lex, what happened?"

"I forgot I was paralyzed and fell. Help me up, dipshit." He wraps his arms around my waist and lifts me up, sitting me on the bed. I smile, "Morning."

"More like afternoon. It's already 2, baby." My eyes widen then he lifts me up bridal style, "Come on, its time to leave." I nod and lean my head against his chest. He kisses my head and I close my eyes. Night, night.

3 hours later

"Lexa, Lex, wake up baby." My eyes crack open and I look at Nik. "Hi, what's going on?"

"You fell asleep. We're home, baby." I sit up and see I'm laying on a bed with a dark blue comforter, pictures around the room, flat screen TV, Xbox system and tons of video games. Yeah, we were in his room. "How long was I asleep?"

"3 hours. It's 5 and dinner time, do you want anything?" I nod and he kisses my lips, "Alright, I'll be right back with your food." I smile and he walks out of the room. I play on his phone then the door opens. A women who looks to be in her late twenties, with brown hair and baby blue eyes smiles at me. This must be Nik's mom. "Alexandra, I'm Hannah, Nik's mom. How are you doing, sweetheart?" I smile, "Nice to meet you, Mrs. Reddings. I'm doing alright." She smiles back, "Call me Hannah, we're practically family." I nod and she sits next to me, "Nik told me about everything and I want you to know we will protect you, Alexandra. My husband and I have guards watching the forest and anywhere people could get in."

"You don't need to do that, Hannah. I don't want you to go through all the trouble." She grabs my hand and looks me in the eyes, "We're family and family protects each other. I'll let you rest. It was nice meeting you, Alexandra."

"You too." She walks out and I flop back against the pillows. It's been awhile since anyone but my mom has protected me and taken desperate measures to do so. The door opens again and Nik walks through, holding two plates of food. I smile and he hands me a plate, "Thanks." I grab the piece of pizza and take a bite. "Oh man, this is so good."

"Glad you like it because its homemade." My eyes widen, "Seriously?" He nods, "My recipe." I lift my arms up in triumph, "Yes, I have a boyfriend that can cook." He raises an eyebrow, "I'm your boyfriend?" My cheeks feel warm and I stutter, "I'm-uh-uh-"

"It's alright, love. I'm honored to be your boyfriend, after all I have an extremely beautiful girlfriend." I blush and he takes another bite of the pizza. We finish eating and he lifts me off of the bed. "Where are you taking me?"

"I want you to meet my family." I shake my head, "No, my hair is a mess and I probably look all nasty." He shakes his head, "You look beautiful. Come on, they all want to meet you." I sigh and he walks down the stairs. Hannah is sitting next to a man, two little boys are hanging upside down on a love seat and Serena, Nik's older sister, is sitting on a rocking chair with a little girl on her lap. Nik sits me on a wheelchair then wheels me over to them. "Family, this is my mate, Alexandra. Alexandra, this is my mom, dad, little brothers, older sister, and my niece." I smile and Caleb and Oliver flip over and run to me. They look so identical but one with brown hair smiles and says, "I'm Oliver." Okay, so, brown hair: Oliver. The one of dirty blonde hair hugs me and says, "I'm Caleb. Nice to meet you." I hug him tightly, "Nice to meet you, Caleb." He lets me go and Serena stands up, carrying her daughter on her hip, "It's nice to meet you, Alexandra. I'm Serena and this is Reyna, my husband should be out back training the pups so you'll be able to meet him later."

"It's nice to meet you both." She smiles and Reyna reaches toward me. Serena pulls her back, "No, Reyna." Reyna turns and pouts, "Mowwa." Serena shakes her head and I speak up, "Its alright, Serena." She looks at me, "Are you sure? With your legs and everything?" I nod and she hands Reyna to me. I smile and she giggles then wraps her little arms around my neck. I hug her and I feel her kiss my cheek. Tears come to my eyes and I shut them close so they won't slip out. Serena takes Reyna and Nik kneels down in front of me, "Are you okay?" I nod and I look up at Nik's dad who smiles at me. "Hello Alexandra, I'm Patrick. It's nice to finally meet the girl my son wouldn't stop talking about." I laugh and Nik whines, "Dad!" He smiles then sits back down. My mom walks out of a hallway, holding some guy's hand. "Mom?" She looks at me and smiles, "Hey, Alex. Vince, this is my daughter Alex. Alex, this is my mate, Vince Mason." I smile and he shakes my hand, "Its nice to meet you."

"You too. Take care of my mom, mister." He nods and she waves me and Nik over to the hallway they just came from. Nik wheels me over and she whispers, "I found out a way to get you your legs, powers and wings back. Vince is the pack doctor so he can take some of your blood and Nik's blood and I can mix it with some things from my spell book. It's like a potion that will heal you but without the whole spell casting." I look up at Nik and he nods, "I'll do it." I nod too then they walk down the hall as Nik follows them. Is this really going to get my legs back? What if it doesn't work? I breathe in and out, trying not to hyperventilate. Please let this work.
