Jor has already packed up by the time I reach my locker.
"C'mon lazy," she giggles, poking my arm. She leans against the locker next to mine. "It seems you have something to tell me- urgently." The sly grin on her face made me shake my head.
"Oh, please," I say, lightly slapping her arm. "Let's go."
We soon exit the school, Jordan constantly asking me what it is I need to talk about. I carry my books in front of my chest, my backpack full on my back. I'm so focused on making sure no one hears about the note that I run into a muscled chest in the middle of the heated conversation.
"Oh, sorry!" I exclaim, bending down to pick up my fallen books, as does the other person. "No, no, you don't have to. I didn't mean t-" I look up at the person's face. The brown hair swept to the side, the glimmering blue eyes full of boyish mischief, the plump lips I know I can't resist...
"Kayden!" I throw my arms around his neck, knowing he had run into me on purpose. "Where have you been for the last few days? You've had me worried sick!"
"Just on another adventure, love," he says in his slight British accent, his lips lightly brushing my forehead. When they leave, the tingling sensation joins my heart in wishing for more.
"Oh, Kayden!" I moan. "Please tell me next time you're leaving, okay?"
"It was an emergency, love. I'm sorry," he says, giving me a cheeky smile I adore so much.
And that's what does it.
We lean in simultaneously, our lips meeting with a burst of fireworks. He carefully opens our lips, letting our tongues slide in and out of each other's mouths. Our hands find our perfect places on each other. For him, it's my hips, and for me, it's his broad shoulders. We begin to stand up, becoming more intimate before someone clears their throat.
"Sorry to break it up, lovebirds," Jor says while pretending to throw up in a bush, "But I've got to take someone home since they can't drive and the busses have already left."
Giving me a pointed look, she heads for the car. At least she's nice enough to give us a couple of minutes, though.
"Kay," I groan again, gazing into his piercing blue eyes, not knowing what to say. "I've missed you so much. Please take me on a date or something- and soon! I can't stand not being with you for as long as a couple of days!"
He chuckles and smiles lightly. "Oh, we are meeting much sooner than you think." Giving me one last kiss, he turns around to go to his club meeting that's tonight. I turn as well, starting towards Jordan's car when I suddenly feel a pinch on my stomach.
I whirl around, ready to face the attacker, but all I see is Kayden's head shaking with laughter. I run at him, jumping on his back, laughing.
"You little-" I start before he swings me down and starts tickling my sides. "Stop! Kayden! Stop!" I shriek, curling into a little ball. He picks me up and starts bolting towards the street with me screaming with laughter the whole time. Suddenly, Jordan's bright red car comes into view, and Kayden and I barrel into the backseat.
"See ya, sugar," Kay whispers into my ear. He climbs out of the car and shuts the door behind him, sashaying as if to mock me. When he looks back, I give him the "number 1" finger, and he blows a sarcastic kiss at me as if saying "I love you too, baby!"
I sigh happily as I climb into the front seat. Jordan slowly pulls out of the school parking lot, and I know this drive will be a semi-long one.
"You guys are cute, but don't do the disgusting part in front of me- or anyone!" She says, gagging.
"Oh c'mon! You know if you had a boyfriend as good as Kayden, you would do the same, if not more," I wiggle my eyebrows at her, and she laughs.
"Okay, I admit, you guys are pretty cute," I give her a look.
"Fine! You guys are so super adorable that I just can't stand it! But about the note... who do you think it's from?"
"Well, I know a lot of people with the last name of K, but most of them are my girlfriends," I state. "But why would they leave a rose?"
"I've been telling you- it's a secret admirer!" Jordan exclaims. "Man, they would get a punch or two from Kayden!"
Suddenly, it hits me. "That's it! Jor, you're a genius!"
"Huh?"
"Kayden is the one who left that in my locker! After all, it's only you and him that know my passcode to my locker, and the rose wasn't smashed at all! Let's read the note again:
E,
It's been too long
Do you dare come along
I swear there's nothing wrong
So come to where you know it is strong.
-K""We, the 'it' is bolded, so that must have some significance, right?" Jor asks.
"Yes, it has to. But what is it between us that is strong?" I wonder out loud.
"E, is it that hard or are you actually stupid?"
"Probably some of the second, but it's our love between us that's strong! But how can I come to love?"
"Where's a place where your love is strong, maybe?"
"My heart?"
"An actual place, E,"
"OH! The place we met! The bench at the park!"
"Then let's go! Tell your parents you'll be home late because this is Kayden we are talking about. Let's see what he has set up for you!"
