Chapter 1

Everything was quiet on the dock, neither of us uttered a word. The cool water lapped around my ankles and I shivered in the cool twilight air. The breeze whistled through the trees on the mountains behind us and stirred the lakes surface. I sighed in satisfaction as he slipped his arm around my shoulders and turned my face to his cheek. His profile was lit by the orange light of the dying sun.

His tussled brown hair was moving just slightly with the wind his tawny eyes startlingly wide.

He turned toward me his perfect mouth tilting up in to a crooked grin.

"I love you Haze."

I laughed softly looking away from his gaze and then back through my lashes. "Why?"

"I love the way you listen to me even when I'm rambling. I love the way you always chew your lip and your crazy irrational fear of crossing roads. I love the way your hair never lies flat and yet you still spend about three hours trying. I love how warm you are. I love your sense of humour and how you dot your letters with stars. I love how beautiful you are. I love how I could never leave you."

I spluttered to choke down a laugh. "I love how your so in touch with your feminine side."

He frowned at the water and shook his head chuckling. "Way to spoil a moment.

"Noah I love you. That ain't changing." I curled my arms around his broad shoulders. "Because I love you."

"Well that makes two of us."

"You're so self obsessed."

"You love that too right?"

"Yeah sure."

"Do you?"

"No!"

"Really?"

"Yes."

"What?"

"I love the way I can confused you so well."

"Oh shut up." His silenced me with his lips.
