Dimitri
"Captain." I looked over my shoulder to see who it was and scoffed.
"Gerald, how many times have I told you?" I did not even have to finish the sentence. He knew that he could call me by my name instead of address my rank. Gerald just shrugged. He walked over to my right side and leaned on the table with me. His hair had just been cut and his face shaven. I was glad, he had looked horrible with facial hair. But that was the joys of being gone from home for months on end. His black rider's uniform was like new again.
" Now, who was the poor soul that had to clean your uniform?" I asked in jest. It was my turn to go get cleaned up and I might as well go to the same person and compensate them for Gerald's sweet talking.
"Well, you see, she really was just a kind soul, not a poor one...shes'-"
"She's the little old lay on the corner," I finished for him. " Alright, empty your pockets."
He looked at me in bewilderment. "Aww, come on man!" I glared at him. He shut up and dug out his purse. I took it and grabbed two silver coins, then threw it back at him.
"There, that wasn't so hard, now was it? You should have done it the first time," I chided him. He needed a lesson in manners. I stalked off in the direction of the old lady's house that I knew was on the next corner. "Oh, and Gerald?"
"Yeah?"
" You're in charge for half an hour. Don't make a mess of it, will you?"
