"Bruuhhh! That shit dead. How's the game just gonna glitch like that?!"
Awwh I feel so welcomed. This being the first thing I heard once I got home. My brother Aarik was home from work I'm assuming. He only works til 6:00pm on Saturdays.
"Hey guys watch the language my sisters home!" I heard Aarik explain to them.
It's not like I haven't heard those words before, I thought, rolling my eyes.
"Hey everyone." I said as I walked into the living room with a wave, seeing five guys scattered around the room.
Yep, this is definitely my house.
"Hi Khaliah." They all say, only 3 of them turning their heads to acknowledge me. The other two were to busy playing NBA 2k14 to look away from the screen. If I wasn't used to this this would probably been seen as rude. But I know these guys to well to get upset about that.
"Where were you?" Aarik ask after I sit down at the table with a bag of potato chips and milk. I know it sounds weird but that's my go to snack. Nobody else gets it though.
Oh well. It's freaking delicious so...
"The park." I simply stated.
"Why'd you go to the park?" He questioned me.
Is today let's talk about Khaliah's life day? Is it? Because I want to know.
"Nobody was home so I decided to go on an adventure. You won't believe who I saw there!" I stated with an exaggerated tone, hoping to put emphasis on the sarcasm I was displaying.
"Who?"
I gave a look of disappointment in his failure to catch my sarcasm and play along. Now I had to actually come up with an answer.
That's so much work, how'd he miss that? I can't be that bad at sarcasm can I? Is my voice too monotoned, did I not sound ridiculous or unrealistic enough, have I failed my Aquarius genes?! This would soon lead to a very intimate session between me and Google on the topic of "How to Be Sarcastic".
"Indiana Jones!!!" I yelled with excitement after having run out of ideas, giving him a long stare. He laughed at my joke, which made me smile.
"Haaaa, you fell for that shit Aarik!!!" His friend Ty yelled. I laughed and shook my head.
These guys are ridiculous.
"Bruh shut up and watch me beat yo ass this next round!" Omar bragged. I guess it was his turn to play. After I finished my food I headed upstairs to my room.
I looked at the clock and saw it was 9:00 pm.
MY MOM SHOULD BE HOME!!!
I took a detour and walked into her room, or more so ran and slid on my knees with my arms raised to the heavens.
I mean that's basically the same thing, right?
"AND IIIIIIIIIIIIII WILL ALWAYS LOOOOVE YOU!!!" I sang extremely loud, slowly getting up and walking over to her on her bed. She was watching "her stories" and at the moment they were discussing how somebody killed somebody else but they're not really dead and blah blah.
I don't know how she can like this stuff. It makes absolutely no sense.
"Khaliah! Child, why are you in my room? Get off my bed." I knew she was only joking. She couldn't even keep a straight face while saying it. I wasn't going to budge.
"You are so stubborn!" she said through laughter. She says it like it isn't old news, we all know how I am. And we all know where I get it from: Her.
