Dad and I play chess every morning around 7:30. Weve done this since I was seven years old. He taught me how to play so that we would have something in common. I drew us closer, and weve found we are a lot alike. The first thing he taught me after the basic roles of the pieces, was to watch the other player carefully. You should always he three moves ahead, and dont let their moves intimidate you. You need to keep your eyes on the board, if you miss even one little detail, you could lead yourself to ambush. If he got home early, he would take me out to the tree house we build together. He had books on plants, berries, animals, droppings, and birds. He would go hunting or birdwatching, and always said his favorite bird was the owl. "They are very complex and intelligent. You wont see them often during the day, bit I know you like to stay up and wake up early."
