Panic! At The Hokage Office
~~~
So, there Naruto stood in the Hokage office, holding a kunai, dressed in his Hokage robes and hat, and staring at those who had died years ago.
The same who were currently staring at him.
"Naruto! Such foul language! And what was all that back there about?" The Third scolded, gesturing to the ball behind him. As Naruto would have noticed if he wasn't so surprised, the Third thought he was in a henge.
"And when did you learn the Hirashin! No one has been able to do that since - well before you were born."
Naruto was still in shock, and still on guard. So he did the only logical thing; which was to halfheartedly throw a kunai at the Third.
The Third could've easily dodged or deflected the kunai, but the soon-to-be-Genin-senseis had jumped in front of their beloved Hokage, and Kurenai had deflected the kunai with one of her own.
"Naruto! What is with your behavior?!" The Third exclaimed, more in shock at his surrogate grandson throwing a kunai at him than anything.
Naruto didn't answer, his face still showing he was hard in thought.
"This shouldn't be possible! This has to be a genjutsu! There is absolutely no way I'm here right now!" he shouted, and then after a moment resumed his shouting. The other occupants of the room just stared at the man.
"Oh kami! What am I supposed to do about the village? They're unattended! Oh no, what if all our alliances end because I'm not there! What about Hinata?! And the kids! Oh no, the kids! What the hell is going to happen!" The man continued to ramble on before his body guest stopped him.
'Kit?' a voice echoed in his mind.
'Yeah?' Naruto echoed back.
'Grow up. You're in the past, now figure it out,' the fox grumbled out, annoyed at how his nap had been interrupted.
"Oh that's just bloody brilliant! If the fox says it's true, then I guess it is!" Naruto exasperatedly said, throwing his arms up in the air. His emotions were running high at the moment, and being in a room mostly full of people who had died from his perspective was not helping.
He let out a sigh, and then out of habit dropped himself into the Hokage's chair, slouching a fair bit more than a Hokage should.
"Hey! No one but the Hokage's allowed in that chair!" Asuma yelled, his guard up. He would never admit it, but the fox bit scared him - just a bit.
Naruto sighed and just pointed to his hat.
"Yeah, no shit," he mumbled. "It's clear what you're all thinking now."
He held up air-quotes. "'Obviously this isnt' just a kid in a henge, and they could be an enemy.'"
"Yes, exactly," Kurenai provided.
Naruto sat up and looked at all the people in the room.
"Guess I have to start talking or be misplaced in jail!" He exclaimed. The Hokage nodded, because it unfortunately was true. Rules are rules and they should be abided - especially the ones he himself put in place.
"All right, here's the deal. I am not necessarily the Naruto you know, Jiji," He held up a hand and spoke quickly before anyone could cut him off.
