Class and More Than Usual Amounts of Stress

~~~
Naruto's alarm clock rang loudly and Naruto quickly jumped out of bed, ready for an attack.
   He stood in a well practiced stance, kunai taken from its spot underneath his pillow and held protectively in front of him, facing towards the sound.
   He scanned the room quickly, trying to keep the panic out of his eyes. Once he had seen nor heard anything out of the ordinary, he slowly put the kunai down, and walked over to his dresser. Sighing, he shut off the alarm clock. A lifetime of fighting really changes people.
   He turned around and looked at his dresser. Might as well try going to the academy again today.
After putting on a henge to appear younger and going through the rest of his morning routine, Naruto had worked up the courage to go to school that day.
   On the way there, he nervously wrung his hands, mind anxiously overthinking. This "time travel" thing was very unnerving; almost traumatizing. All his friends, younger and alive, so full of hope, unaware of everything that was to come. Or maybe things would happen differently now that he was here? He couldn't stop thinking about it.
Upon arriving at school, Naruto immediately noticed the excited buzz throughout the school.
   After listening in on a couple of conversations, he figured out that, apparently, it was genin exam day. He sighed. He could not do any other clone than the shadow clone. I mean, he could in the future, but he can't just suddenly have his chakra control become amazing. And that in itself was terrible. Do you know how much training he had to do with the toads? It felt like all progress had been reverted.
   Naruto sat at his desk and thought about the possibilities of what would happen if he did the clone or if he didn't. He figured it would be best if he didn't as to not screw with the timeline too much right now. There was a small chance he would arouse suspicion amongst the students if he suddenly pulled it off. And besides, he needed an excuse to know the shadow clone jutsu, as he felt he would be using it a lot - possibly even more than he already had back in the future. Now all he had to do was wait for his name to be called.
Naruto had been acting strange, Iruka noticed.
   Maybe he wasn't on the best of terms with the kid, but he took him out to ramen every once in a while. He knew Naruto was a knucklehead happy-go-lucky kid, always wearing an obnoxiously bright shade of orange. He was a bit annoying, sure, and definitely a chore whenever he caused trouble, but it still brightened Iruka's day when Naruto was around.
   But then something happened. It was definitely odd to say the least. It was a mildly normal day, and then suddenly Naruto's appearance changed. He was older and in Hokage's robes, and he figured it was just another prank or something. But then he was on high alert, pulling out a kunai. Iruka didn't know how to feel, because this kid was almost acting like a true shinobi in a unknown circumstance, but it was weird. He'd just suddenly shunshined - without leaves - after that and the rest of the class was just as confused as him. Even though he was a little concerned, he calmed down the other students, telling them it was probably just another prank, and kept on teaching. It was all okay, he assured the class, and internally himself. But something deep down told him everything wasn't okay.
