Chapter 3

Outside of the Princess's chambers voices whispered as something corrupted was set in motion.

"What's going on that all the staff is so active tonight?" Yemma asked.

"I'm not sure would you like us to investigate?" Yoongi, now in his human form, asked yawning.

"From what I hear they're pulling guards to the south gate." Taehyung, also in his human form, leaned closer to the entrance. "Something must be happening."

"Hmm just notify the boys for me. I'm sure they already know about it but I would like them here now. The royal guards should be on there way as well. They'd never leave me unprotected." Yemma sighed. "I'd cut there heads off for such careless behavior."

"Alright, we'll be right back then." Yoongi got up and pulled the other boy out the room.

The two male hybrids left the room leaving the young girl by herself. She sighed and got up to pour herself some water. When she heard the door slide open she didn't even think twice assuming it was her two hybrids retuning.

"That was fast-"

Turning around she came face to face with a man who was not someone she knew. As her cup fell from her hands she ran towards the door when he grabbed her arm and yanked her around to face him.

"Guards, guards!" Her screams were cut off when he held a knife to her throat.

"No one is there, Mama. They are all gathered at the south gate and those who were left behind have betrayed you. You just sent away the only protection you had left."

"Who are you!" Yemma screamed. "You dare hold a knife to your future Queen's throat!"

"It's not personal your majesty." The man said. "But some people around you don't agree about an untrue royal being in power."

"Who hired you!" She struggled but stopped when he held the knife closer blood dripping from the new cut.

"That's not important right now, is it? You don't seem so powerful without your pets by your side do you?"

"You and your family's heads shall roll for this, and anyone else behind you." The fear in her voice was now evident.

"Something tells me that I will be just fine." Just as the man slid the knife along her throat the voices of the seven men could be ear outside the door.

"Mama, we are here as you requested," Namjoon called.

"We've received word of an assassin trying to enter the palace," Hoseok spoke. "The palace guards are dealing with the intruder as we speak."

"We will sit in your chambers with you while you rest until the threat has disappeared." This time it was Jin. "Jungkook and Jimin have also brought their swords just in case there is more than one."

When she didn't reply, the boys became suspicious. Something must have been wrong for her not to answer. There was no way she was sleeping without her two hybrids at her side.

"Mama?" Taehyung called. He sniffed the air, someone else was in there with her.

Yemma was tempted to call out to them but the man held the knife even closer as a warning not to speak. They were standing so close to her, on the other side of the door, yet she couldn't call out to them. A tear slid down her cheek as Yoongi called out using her name.

"Yemma, is everything alright?"

"Your mother told me to get rid of them too." The man suddenly whispered.

Her eyes widened as he revealed the person who sought to kill her. Her own mother, sure not by birth but still. She had never suspected that the Queen Mother would have wanted to murder her. When exactly had she turned everyone against her? How had she not noticed?

A sudden wave of calmness washed over her. She supposed this was what she got for how she ruled. A terrifying and mean leader, she killed whenever she wanted and was selfish to her people. No wonder they hated her, but she knew one thing, that the Queen Mother was no better.

"Goodbye, Queen Yemma." The man said before pulling the blade along her throat.

Wow, I just realized I haven't put an authors note yet! Thank you for reading this is a story I'm really excited about it. This one is gonna be a long one and updates will be every Sunday. It's also up on my Tumblr so if it's not updated here it up there.
