This was the first time in her life that Yemma was excited for the start of the new semester. Though she would never let others see that.
After her father's funeral, the boys had Yemma on house arrest. The staff was back and Namjoon personally spoke to the head butler about having Yemma rest and recover. Luckily he completely agreed and allowed no one to disturb her while she rested accept for food and the occasional visit from her friends.
Friends, that was something she had to get used to. Considering someone anything other than a maid, butler, or employee was new.
But when the staff bid her goodbye that morning she gave a small smile at the sight of her seven friends waiting for her at the front gates.
"Are you ready for a new school year?" Jungkook asked his bunny smile just a genuine.
"Yeah, I guess." She let Jimin take her bag off her shoulder.
"Remember you have to treat me and Jin as your professors when other students are around," Namjoon warned.
"I know, I know." She rolled her eyes. "Wait why are you two here? You're not in school."
"What we cant walk our favorite girl to school?" Hoseok whined.
"Yemma I work at the cafe in front of your school." Yoongi rolled his eyes.
"But-"
"Shh-" Taehyung cut her off. "Let us love you. That, and they were jealous we got to see you every day and they couldn't-"
He stopped talking and stood still. Yemma didn't even notice until she bumped into Yoongi in front of her. The others finally noticed as well and gave each other looks.
"We'll be right back." Taehyung said lowly.
"What? Where are you going?"
"Yemma let's head on without them." Jimin lightly pulled her hand. "Don't worry about them they'll be back."
"But-"
"But nothing, we'll be late if we wait for them." Jungkook pulled her other hand.
The six of them made their way to the college and bid their respective goodbyes. Jungkook, Yemma, and Namjoon all going in one direction. The two younger one had his class first.
"Go on in I have to grab something's from my office first."
The two nodded and went into the classroom. Jungkook wordlessly followed Yemma to the back of the classroom.
"Don't you have other friends to sit with?" Yemma said once they sat down. Students filled in and filled the seats. Namjoon was a popular professor.
"I'll take it that you don't mean that as it sounds," Jungkook smirked as he pulled out his laptop. "But no, I don't."
Yemma sided eyed him. Maybe she was wrong about calling them her friends. Of course, she was, her world was different from them.
"Besides." Jungkook leaned closer so only she could hear him. The class was just about full of students and Namjoon had entered and was setting up. "You're much more than a friend Yemma."
Before she could respond, Namjoon had already begun class. Usually when people said things like that she brushed it off, but when Jungkook said it, it was different. So she just sat there.... A quiet blushing mess.
------------
"Alright good class everyone." Namjoon clapped. "Oh, and we will be having a trip to the national history museum. You're allowed to bring up two two other guests and don't forget to bring money for lunch. Mr. Kim our librarian will be assisting me in chaperoning you all. If you wish to go please sign this form here with your name and email. I will follow up with an official permission form with whatever email you give me so please read your messages."
Namjoon had just released the class and a line already formed in front of his desk. Jungkook stepped in at the end but when Yemma kept walking out the door he chased after her.
"Yemma! You're not going on the trip?"
"No, if I can spend a day at some museum, I can help at the company." She pushed her strap higher on her shoulder.
"But isn't it supposed to be helpful with the upcoming paper namjoo- I mean professor Kim is assigning?"
"Its fine I can just stay late in the library to make up for it."
Jungkook sighed. "That makes no sense. Yemma just go, it won't be fun without you."
Yemma stopped and looked at him. A small smile graced her face. "I'm sure it wouldn't be any more fun with me Jungkook."
Jungkook didn't follow her this time as she walked off. There was something wrong, why was she so adamant on not going? Knowing her she'd never pass up an opportunity to do above average on an assignment.
Sighing, Jungkook decided to sign up later and ran to catch up with his princess.
