BEEP, BEEP, BEEP
The alarm woke me up and made me suffer, grabbing it I launched it across the room until I heard the satisfying crash. I tried to sleep for at least ten more minutes but I knew that I had to study for an econ exam that I had earlier on the day. I got up from my bed and opened the window as widely as possible, the fresh London air hitting my face and completely waking me up. I started to get ready for the day, I opened the door and headed toward the bathroom, on my way there, I found my roommate,Cassie, saying goodbye to one of her one night stands. I rolled my eyes and went straight for the shower. When I finished I fixed my hair and put on my usual amount of makeup, which was minimum. Now the hard part. I could never decide what to wear, so many options confused me. I looked through my closet for the tenth time until I finally decided to wear a plain cream skirt and a sky blue long sleeve sweater combined with my naked high heeled boots, I put on my jewellery and perfume and of we go.
"Hurry up Cassie or there won't be any breakfast left!" I screamed as I watched with an amused face how she was struggling to put on her gorgeous black combat boots.
"Stop screaming! My head hurts and I'm so not ready for that bloody test we have today"
"Perhaps if you had stayed with me and studied instead of going out to party and hooked up with some random guy you would be ready"
"Uhhh, nooooo! That is for boring people" she said smirking, knowing that I hated to be called boring.
" I'm not boring, I'm just being responsible, either way, i'm headed to the library after breakfast, care to join me?"
"Will you help me study?"
" Yes"
" Then it's a yes from me"
" Did you just personificated Simon Cowell?"
"Maybe..."
Walking towards the kitchen I quickly cooked some scrambled eggs, with some toast and beans while Cassie went for the leftover sausage and pancakes that I prepared yesterday.
"How do you manage to stuff all of that into your mouth?" I asked astonished.
"Dedication and hunger. Honestly, I think that the last thing I ate were some nachos from a street cart" At that comment I just rolled my eyes and laughed, then I finished my heavenly food.
Once Cassie stopped stuffing her face with food, we headed towards Middlesex University, which was a few minutes away by bike, and went to the library. When I was sure that I knew every single detail for the test, we headed towards the 437-B classroom, which was the place where our first test of the day was being held. You see, today is not just the Econ test but is also the advanced calculus one. We entered the room and took our places ready to for our tests. Once we finished we got out and headed towards the campus garden.
"That was the worse, I honestly don't know how you managed to finish the bloody thing, it was impossible" Cassie said with a tired look on her face.
"I know! I studied a lot and still thought that was hard, but I think that I did ok"
"Oh shut it, you always do more than ok. You have a perfect average"
"Well, my next class does not start until 11:30 so I'm of to work"
"Have fun and don't you dare to forget that latte that you owe me"
"Yup. Text me!" I said while I walked and made my way towards our flat, once I was there I changed my shoes to my trusty white Converse, grabbed my Starbucks employee card and made my way towards the exit of the flat bock. Getting to my job was really easy, the Starbucks where I worked was just a few blocks away, and although this job was only temporary, I loved to work as a barista. I remember my first day there. I was scared for the pressure, and I dropped at least 10 coffees before I got the hang of it
Once I arrived, I was greeted by the amazingly sweet scent of coffee.
"Hi George" I said to my co-worker and friend.
"Kai Kai!! How have you been?" He replayed and I instantly reacted with a smile to the nickname they chose for me.
"Fairly well actually, how about you?"
"Fantastic"
Walking to the back of the counter, I put on my apreon and started to take the order of the customers that were entering the store. As usual, it got packed. After two long hours of working, A text rang on my pocket. Opening my old fashioned phone, I noticed it was 11:05. I had another class on 25 minutes and I really didn't want to be late.
"Bye George, see you tomorrow"
"Bye kai kai" he said as I made my way out of the store, once i was out i heard someone screaming my name, i turned around and saw George coming full speed towards me.
"WAIT! Dude, you walk really, really fast. Here, you forgot Cassie's latte"
"Oh my god, thanks, you literally just saved my life" I said and hugged him.
"I know, I sometimes wonder what would you do without me"
"Probably die by the hand of Cassie without her coffee"
"Probably. Okay, now go before you're too late"
"Sir, yes, sir" I said and saluted, mocking one of the soldiers that I saw on American films. Although americans were arrogant wankers, I couldn't help but to love their pop culture.
I went running to my next class and to my crazy best friend.
"Kiaa!" Cassie screamed as if hadn't just seen her two and a half hours ago "Did you brought my coffee?"
"I'm happy to see you to. Yes, the job was great. And here..." I said when I pulled it from behind my back "is your coffee"
"Yeess! Thank you!, I NEEDED this"
"Don't mention it" I told her and laughed, god I love this crazy girl, she always makes me smile. "So, how was your class?" I asked her as we made our way to our next class.
"Not as bad as our first one" she shrugged. We made our way to the 546-D classroom to the Intermediate Macro Theory class.
" Kia, can I copy your notes, pleeeasee??"
" I'll give them to you when the class is over"
"Thanks, you're the best"
"I know"
Taking our usual places we started one of my favorite classes. Some hated it but the teacher taught as if telling a story.
When the day finished, I wondered how could it be possible that my life was so simple, it was always the same. School, work, school, food, TV, sleep, repeat. I didn't hated it but I hated that I didn't had any challenges.
We retreated to our small flat on the outside of the campus, and I immediately went to the fridge and then my bed. While eating some Vanilla Ice Cream I turned the Tv on and watched The Suite Life on Deck, and it made me smile. I loved this show when I was little. After that I just drifted.
