I woke up to the sound of my alarm, again. After all that throwing I was surprised that it was still working.
After I did my usual morning routine and I decided to wear a classic biker look nailing it with Cassie's combat boots. I put on some red lipstick and mascara. When i was satisfied with how I looked, I got my car keys and screamed for Cassie, but she was apparently still asleep, an idea popped in my head and started planning it. She would kill me but I would die first of laughter. I walked slowly to her room which was right next to mine and I entered, not worrying about the noise that I made, she usually slept like a rock. When I saw her sleeping peacefully, I couldn't help but too doubt to wake her up, but then I remembered that I told her that we needed to wake up earlier than usual because I needed to make a quick stop. I looked for a loud alarm on my phone and found one that sounded like a screaming witch. This was it. I set the alarm and placed it beside her before running for my life to the kitchen. Then, the glorious moment happened, I heard the alarm went off and the loudest scream you will ever hear, like, that wasn't even a human sound. I heard Cassie running down the stairs with my phone on her hand and, if looks could kill, I would be ten feet underground by now.
"I will bloody murder you!!"
"Now now, let's not lose our heads"
"Only one will lose her head today!"
"Even when I am going to buy you a coffee?"
"You are lucky I love coffee, and you will buy me a frappuccino!" she said, but this time she was smiling
"Will do"
In five minutes we were ready to go, which was a miracle considering how much time she usually takes in getting ready. Making a stop at the Starbucks before our way to Middlesex, I went directly to George's stall. Yesterday I got a text for him that I needed to go for the early shift because on that day he was going to propose to her 8 year long girlfriend, I was so happy for him that I said yes, and now I had to be there at 4 in the morning, and instead of my usual post as a barista I had to be there as an attendant, taking orders and writing on cups.
When i got there it was empty, to the exception of some homeless guy on the back couch, he had his head low, a coat to big for him and a cap. His face was not possible to see because his silky black hair completely covered it. Sighing, I went to make Cassie's frappuccino, and handed it to her.
"I cannot believe you got me here at 4 in the morning"She said, but she seemed happy with her Caramel.
"You can get cozy to that guy on the couch" I said, wiggling my eyebrows.
"Maybe, I can't say i'm not intrigued by him and I want to see what's behind all those layers. Maybe some striking blue eyes" She said with a dreamy look on her face and went to sit on the couch across from the homeless guy. She was a romantic, and It isn't that I wasn't a romantic, but I just never had time to think about that. Yes, sometimes I wanted to wake up with someone at my side, cuddling, but the feeling usually passed. Even though Cassie had a different guy on her bed every week, I knew she was only trying to find THE one.
When I was all set to work, I got near to the homeless guy, thinking about maybe buying him something. Grabbing a pen and a cup I approached him.
"Hey, um" I said and he didn't raise his head "Can I buy you anything? We have this great muffins and, maybe you would like a cappuccino?" Still no answer. "It won't cost a penny, it's my treat"
Finally the guy raised his face and the most beautiful green eyes i have ever seen and red lips that smiled at me almost shyly grated me, and I couldn't help but to stare. The guy said something but I just couldn't shake it.
"Hello?" The guy said while shaking his hands in front of my face.
Wake up, Kiara. Wake up.
"Sorry" I said "So, can I take your order? I tried not to look at him, i I did I was going to look like a crazy lady.
"What you said earlier sounds just perfect"
"Okay, I'll bring it to you in just a sec" I said, walking towards the counter and starting to prepare the cappuccino and warming his muffin, when it was ready I took it to him, carefully. My hands were shaking with every step I took. Comme on! I was better than this!.
"Here" I said while I handed it to him
"What's your name?" He looked rather amused
"Kiara"
"Well Kiara, thank you" He said and then added "I will owe you a coffee"
"No need, it's my pleasure" Then I whirled around and hid on the counter from his gaze until it was full and I stopped thinking about him and my thoughts were replaced with coffee orders.
When the shift finished, he was no longer there, but Cassie had this smile on her face.
"So, hot mysterious guy asked for your number"
"Did you gave it to him?" Please say no, please say no
"Obviously. Do you think I'm crazy"
"You didn't even know the guy"
"He stared at you for like thirty minutes before he left. And not the weird stalker way" She said like that fixed everything. "I did you a favor. I kinda feel like cupid"
"Yeah right. If tomorrow I'm not here you can blame yourself for getting me kidnapped" I joked. Mia put her hand on her heart, like I was crazy for even saying that.
After a whole day of thinking about him, I went to the gym. On my way home, I saw a sign about a movie called 'Five feet apart' and I got close, it seemed like Cassie's type of movie, we could watch it together. I looked closer to see the day of the release and recognized the guy from work. Oh my god. I was lost. Cassie just gave my number to Cole Sprouse.
