*3RD PERSON POV*
John sighed to himself, fixing his jacket in the mirror that hung behind his door as he looked over his outfit for the evening. He shrugged, almost choosing to change, but decided against it. He looked fine, it was all in his mind. The younger man's stomach churned as he stared at his reflection. Was he really ready for this? For dating? It had only been three months since the band returned from America, (the tour on hiatus until the bassist was ready to perform) and life was only just getting semi back to normal. Was he really ready to take someone out? To abandon his hopes of his memory returning? John felt as though he was giving up by choosing to date someone else. He'd spent almost everyday with Freddie, talking with him, and yet he still couldn't remember anything about them being together. He knew his constant questions and queries were taking their toll on the older man. Having to constantly talk about his heartbreak couldn't have been easy for him, but John was forever grateful he tried helping, even if they had no success yet. He almost felt guilty for agreeing to have dinner with Henry. He was a lovely man who worked in the guitar supply shop John and Brian brought all their bits and bobs from, and John knew they'd have many things in common, but he just, he wasn't Freddie and the younger lad felt as though he should've been with the singer instead. He had really thrown himself in it by taking Brian's advice and asking the man out. He should have never listened to the blasted guitarist!

"You're an idiot." He muttered to himself, shaking his head as he picked up his wallet from his dresser. As much as he wanted to cancel, he knew he couldn't. He couldn't stand the poor man up now. Taking one last glance at the mirror, John left his room, trying to shake his nerves as he made his way down the hall towards the kitchen.

"What do you mean you've got a secret?" He heard Freddie ask as he rounded the corner, a hint of a smirk in his voice.

"It means exactly how it sounds you sod." Brian chuckled back as John entered the room.

"Yes deary, I understand that." Freddie muttered, rolling his eyes as he nursed a cup of tea. "But what exactly is this secret hmm?" He quizzed, leaning against the cupboards as he sipped his cup.

"It won't be a secret if I blab Fred, oh John!" Brian smiled, suddenly turning his attention to the younger man and away from Freddie.

"You're not getting out of telling me that easily lovey! Spill it!" The frontman butted in, sending the taller man a glare as he turned his back to him.

"Shush you!" Brian mumbled, flicking his hand at him. "You look great John! All ready for dinner then?" He asked, smiling once again as John blushed a little.

"I guess." He shrugged, looking down at his hands.

"Dinner?" Freddie spoke up, only now noticing John's dolled up appearance. He looked so handsome, he thought, so bloody handsome. John suddenly remembered how he didn't mention his plans to Freddie, now he wished he had. He didn't want to just drop it on him when they were getting along so well, and now it would ruin everything!

"He's got a date." Brian announced, causing John to wince.

"A-A date?" Freddie said quietly, a sick feeling entering his stomach as his face paled a little. John was dating already? Just when Freddie thought they were getting close again, John's going out with someone else?

"It's just dinner." The bassist spoke up, looking up quick enough to notice Fred's reaction.

"That's, that's nice." The older of the pair nodded, keeping his eyes focused on the ground. He was trying his hardest to not show the tears welling in his eyes as he stared at his feet, but failed to hide the small sniffle that came out as he tried to blink them away. John's heart broke at the sight. He felt horrible. "I, I hope you have a nice time." Freddie said softly, placing his cup in the sink as he moved to leave the room. "Whoever he is, he's lucky. You look lovely." He added, smiling sadly as he walked past John and out the door.
