wooseok didn't really pay attention to his surroundings in class. he took notes and paid attention to his professor for sure, but he didn't really care for the other students around him or for the classroom itself. for wooseok, the objective of college was to just do well and get out so he could go into the work force— it was that black and white for him.

what really got on wooseok's nerves were the dumb relationships around him. he didn't care if he saw couples eating in the cafeteria or whatever, but when they're being all romantic and other shit in front of him in the middle of class while he's trying to take notes, that's when he gets angry and irritated. his pet peeve was probably the reason why he didn't go looking for any romance or relationship in school— he just wanted to graduate already, but the sad truth was that he was still a freshman, a first year.

wooseok slumped over his desk as his head hit his computer keyboard. hyunggu sat down right next to the fallen boy at the table and eyed him while snacking on some chips. wooseok's nose twitched as smelt the chips and sat up immediately.

"i'm hungry," wooseok said, his voice cracking.

"then get up and eat," hyunggu mumbled as he continued eating his chips.

"i was spicy food," wooseok said as he got up.

"there's no spicy food in the dorm. you'll have to go to the convenience store," hyunggu leaned back in the chair and looked at wooseok while he was upside down.

wooseok went to the entrance of their dorm and slipped his shoes on as he asked, "is there anything you want?"

hyunggu smiled and pulled out a list from seemingly nowhere. wooseok frowned. he grabbed a jacket before stomping over to the grinning, lazy boy and snatching the list out of his hands. right before he left, hyunggu called out, "thank you, wooseok! i love you!"

wooseok slammed the door behind him.

he walked briskly to the local convenience store as his stomach grumbled. he looked at the list hyunggu gave him and rolled his eyes at all of the junk food that he wrote down— he didn't roll his eyes because of the junk food, he rolled his eyes because of how fast they ran out of the junk food given the fact adachi went shopping just the other day.

before even thinking about picking up the stuff hyunggu wrote on the list, wooseok went straight towards the ramen and bought the spiciest pack there; he didn't plan on buying anything until his stomach stopped making whale mating calls. he quickly bought the ramen without batting an eyelash, made the ramen, and inhaled it without even giving it a second to cool down.

meanwhile, as the giant in front of him literally emptied the whole cup of ramen in less than half a second, the cashier blinked and gazed in awe as the boy stood up and threw his trash out. first of all, that ramen was the spiciest the store had to offer, and second of all, how was the boy's tongue after eating that scorching hot ramen? the cashier shook his head and tried to mind his own business, but it was hard to since it looked like there was a giant trekking through the aisles.

wooseok grabbed all the stuff on the list and some more spicy ramen and cradled everything in his arms— he never needed a basket due to his absurdly long arms— and dumped everything on the countertop. the cashier looked up at the giant in the same awe he was in before as he mindlessly scanned all of the food wooseok brought up. wooseok was gazing elsewhere and rubbing the back of his neck, so he didn't really notice the small boy staring at him intensely.

"your total is 57,000 won," the cashier told him.

"what?" wooseok was taken aback.

he finally looked down at the small cashier boy, the boy nearly flinching when he saw the distress on wooseok's face. he actually flinched when wooseok reached into the bag and took out one of the cup ramens.

"how much is it now?" wooseok asked, his voice cracking.

the cashier removed one of the cup ramens and said, "55,000 won."

wooseok sighed and put the cup ramen back into the bag— he might as well just spend the extra money to feed himself for another day. the cashier added the cup ramen back, and wooseok reluctantly handed the cashier his credit card.

"hey," the cashier said. "does your tongue not burn?"

wooseok looked at the cashier. he read his name tag in his head then said, "no, not really."

the cashier— jinho— blinked, and wooseok blinked back. wooseok got his card back and then left the store while thanking the boy. wooseok kept thinking to himself as he left the store, "should a little kid like him really be working in a convenience store?"

jinho watched as the giant left and whispered to himself, "maybe if eat like him, i'll grow taller, and people won't keep mistaking me for a little kid."
