Once in the room Rachel and Veronica treated Katie to a spa day where Katie got to bond with the two sisters who seemed to act like total polar opposites. Not only that but she also got to figure out certain things that Lance did as a child and small details of his life that she never knew. For instance, when Lance was at the garrison and was partnered with 'Pidge' for the first time he wouldn't stop sending messages to his sisters about the strange but funny boy he was paired with. Looking back now Katie didn't even remember much about Lance in the early years at the garrison.

"So, was I right?" Rachel asked Katie as she painted her last toe with a bright pink polish. "About what?" Katie questioned. "That you had a crush on Lance since way back when?" Katie coughed at that sudden question and tried to cover her pink cheeks. "I don't know what you're talking about Rachel, you know what I should get going. I need to find my clothes for later today. Well thanks for the spa day and everything bye!" Katie quickly told the two girls as she ran out the door slamming it a little to loud.

Just as she reached the small guest room at the end of the hall she smiled to herself. Was this really happening? Or was she just in some sick dream that she would wake up at as soon as the good part was about to start? Stepping into the guest room she noticed a single flower lying on the wooden night stand. Picking up the Daisy she smiled to herself. "Katie Holt the day you dreamed of is finally happening." Standing up she looked through the pile of clothes that Veronica and Rachel had given her and found a pretty yellow summer dress.

Lance never really saw Katie in a dress, like at all. Maybe this was the day to finally show her feminine side? Katie's thoughts then drifted to Lance and Allura. Was it bad that she felt happy her chance with Lance had finally come? Was it bad that she felt like she was replacing Allura? Or was it even worse that she liked the fact that Allura wasn't here anymore because she finally got her shot with Lance? Sitting down on the soft bed all that Katie could think of at that moment, that moment while she was holding the yellow sundress, was the love between the two that she had felt the night Lance and Allura had their first kiss.

Yeah, that's right. She saw them that night when Rover took a picture of them. Her heart had been shattered into a million pieces when she saw how close they had gotten in such a short amount of time. In that moment all that Katie could feel was her intense heartache. Even when she went shopping with Allura for her outfit she didn't feel as much pain as she did at that moment.

"Why did it have to be you Lance?" She said aloud not noticing that Lance had began to open the door. "Ouch that hurt my ego." His sudden response startled Katie and made her jump. "Lance what are you doing here?"

"I just wanted to clear something up before you get the wrong idea, I know I asked you out on a date, but it's a friendly date if that makes sense?" Lance began. "What?"

"Well, what I mean is that if you think this is a date it isn't I just wanted to hang out with you, plus I wanted Nadia to stop painting my nails. She always picks the strangest combinations." Lance finished off by mumbling his words. He didn't think it would be this awkward to tell Katie. When he had pictured this conversations five minutes ahead of time, he had thought that she would've have agreed and told him that she already knew what his plan was.

Instead, he saw her eyes lose the sparkle they had from early in the morning and her bright skin suddenly seemed pale. That's when it hit him, did she really think this was a date? If so, had he seen her truly happy and shocked when he asked her out earlier? All of this didn't make sense, Katie wasn't the type to misunderstand situations, let alone like dates. She even said it herself earlier when they were talking about James, but her she was with that awful expression on her face that made Lance want to hug her and apologize for everything.

"Of course I knew, it was too good to be true." Katie mumbled lowly to herself. "Just don't tell Nadia though, I don't want to break her little heart if we tell her that this is all just a set up." Lance told her. "Other than that, do you want to go to the carnival or go somewhere else. I actually just found out that some of my old friends are planning on making lanterns tonight to set free."

"You can go wherever you want tonight, just leave me alone."

"Katie what's wrong? Are you alright?"

"I would've been perfectly fine if you hadn't toyed with me." Katie then threw the Daisy at him. "Do you know how embarrassing it is to find out that the guy who you've loved for so many years asked you out on a date as a joke and here you are thinking that the guy really does like you back!?" Katie's sudden burst of anger surprised Lance, but it surprised Katie even more. She would've never thought she'd tell Lance that she loves him, especially not in a circumstance like this one. Having no energy to continue her argument and not wanting to deal with the aftermath she left the room holding a tight grip on the sundress.

"Shit."

Turning around Lance looked at Katie's figure walking down the stairs. She loved him? Katie Holt loved Lance McClain? Since when? How come he hadn't noticed that she had feeling for him? "Lance what the fuck just happened?" Rachel suddenly appeared in front of her brother with a similar amount of anger that Katie showed a few moments ago. "I don't know."

"What the hell do you mean you don't know Lance? Clearly something happened if Katie just stormed off. What did you tell her? I swear if you laid your hands on her in an un-gentlemen way I will personally end Lance Jr. this instant."

"Wait no! It isn't like that I swear Rachel!"

"Then what did I just witness!" Rachel angrily yelled at her brother.

"I think it was a confession of love."

":O"**

"How did you make that noise?"

"(    ͡° ͜ʖ  ͡°)"

"What the f-"

"KID FRIENDLY!" Veronica yelled covering Nadia's ears from across the room.

**IDK WTF I WAS ON WHEN I WROTE THIS SECTION.

...

"And the worst part is that I told him I loved him in the worst possible moment Hunk." Katie cried aloud to Hunk who was trying to calm down Katie. "Katie why do you have the worst luck when it comes to love." Hunk teased her as he embraced her in his arms. "You think I know?" She responded. "Well you should know that with everything that's happened the only way left to go is up. Things will get better Pidgey." Her eyes watered hearing Hunks soothing words.

"You haven't used that nickname is so long, I missed it." Katie's voice cracked mid-sentence.

Katie promised herself that she'd make amends with Lance. She didn't want to forgive him for what he did, how could you just toy with a girl like that? But still, she just wanted to be next to him and get closer. Just like he had with Allura. "Get changed, even if you don't go out with Lance, feel pretty tonight." Hunk smiled at her. "I'll have a grand old time by myself." Katie smiled.

"No, not by yourself, with yourself. You're never alone Katie."

"I'll remember that." Katie smiled entering the bathroom. Staring into the mirror she could see her normal features returning but, she still couldn't get the feeling that she would never be with Lance off her chest.
