Life is always hard. No matter if you think you lead the perfect life, it's always hard. For one pink filly it is especially hard.

Pinkamena Diane Pie was a sad filly. She had no friends, unless you counted her pet rocks. She lived on a rock farm, a dismal place with a poor family, who couldn't even take care of all of their kids. For Pinkamena, she had one piece of oat bread with dandelion sprinkled on top once a day. Her sisters got more because she was a runt. Useless to the rock farm and her family believed she would never have any purpose.

"Pinkamena Diane Pie!!! You come in here right this instant!!!"

Pink sighed and stopped eating her bread.

"Did you do this?!" Her Father screamed. He pointed his hoof at a broken glass on the floor.

"No." Pink replied.

"Well your sisters said you did!!!"

Inkie Pie, Limestone Pie, and Marble Pie were snickering behind her father's back.

"I didn't!!! It was them!!!" Pink pointed at her sisters.

"These little angels never did anything! This glass was our only glass in the entire house!!!" Reverend Pie started steaming.

Pink started to walk away. Before she could, her father grabbed her by the tail and slapped her.

"YOU LITTLE BRAT!!! NOONE LIKES YOU!!!" Reverend Pie continued slapping her, choking her, and throwing her. He then threw her into a tiny room in the cellar. That tiny room was her cellar. He slammed her against the cold concrete floor and Pink's nose broke. He slammed the door and locked it behind him.

Pink looked at her bloody, bruising body. This was probably the least aggressive beating yet. Sometimes Reverend Pie would cut her with a knife, throw large rocks at her, and even throw her in her room and leave her there for 4 days forcing her to eat spiders, rats, and even herself.

"Heh, at least he didn't run me over with the rock tractor." Pink cried silently. She looked around her room. Her bed was a small bale of hay. That was all. The door suddenly barged open.

"Oh thank Celestia you're all right!" Her mom rushed down the stairs.

Her mom was strict but caring. She loved Pink so much but was forced to stay back and watch her beatings in fear of getting beat up herself.

Cloudy Quartz hushed her daughter and wiped off the blood all over her body.

"Honey, I love you more than anything." Cloudy sniffed.

"Then why don't you stop Daddy?" Pink uttered.

Cloudy smiled at her gently.

"Once Daddy put a threat on me that if I didn't do what he told me to he would kill and torture me." Cloudy shuddered.

"I love you mommy." Pink said.

That was how life was for Pink. Every day, until that day.
