This Demon Smiles

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Encounter

Third person P.O.V

It was an ordinary day at the guild, Erza eating her strawberry cake, Happy hitting on Carla, Jet and Droy with Levy, and the Flame brain and Pervy flasher, formally known as natsu and gray, were fighting over no reason while throwing insults at each other. "Stripper! Ash for brains! Ice princess! Pyro!" The two polar opposites yelled at each other as they threw punches and kicks. Natsu hit gray in the stomach with his Fire Dragons Iron Fist and it knocked Gray off his feet sending him flying across the guild hall and to the bar. He bumped into Erza and it caused her to drop her cake. Gray got back up and started fighting natsu again. Erza was fuming with anger and walked over to the two. She grabbed both of their heads and slammed them against each other, " Owww" said natsu as he rubbed his head. He looked up to see Erza with a red glow of anger around her. Gray followed shortly after. "If you two don't stop fighting I'll handcuff you two together so you're forced to get along got it!" Erza yelled and the two hugged each other in fear at the sight of her, "yes ma'am" the two said at the same time. Erza walked back too her seat at the bar and ordered another strawberry cake. Gray pushed Natsu away and Natsu puffed out his cheeks in annoyance. 'Stupid Erza, I was in the middle of fighting ice princess over here and I was winning too' natsu thought. Gray saw Natsu's annoyed face and he thought it was.... kinda cute. Gray had a major crush on  Natsu, he loved how he was so cheerful and how he would protect and put his life pretty much on the line for his family and friends. The thing he loved most was that smile, god how he loved the way it just could cheer you up when just looking at it. 'damn these feelings of mine' gray thought in his head. "Hey you two, get up" a Celestial wizard known as Lucy came walking over to the two with a flier in hand. "What is it Luce" natsu said as he got up. "I got a job that says we need to hunt down a monster that is terrorizing the forest near Crocus" Lucy said. Gray got up and took the flier out of Lucy's hand and started reading it," Hmmm, they're willing to pay 500,000 jewl for us just to defeat a monster" his jaw dropped as he kept on reading. " Not just any monster, it's some sort of demon, it's been setting the forest on fire and it specifically ask for an ice and fire mage" Erza said as she came up to them. "It does, well I guess I didn't get to that part yet" said Lucy. "Natsu, Gray, this will be your punishment for knocking over my cake earlier. The two of you will go on this mission together, not even happy is to tag along." " WHAT I CAN'T GO WITH HIM!!" The two boys shouted at the same time, though gray didn't want to admit he was a bit happy that he was going to be alone with natsu for awhile. "Enough I don't want to hear another word from the both of you, go pack your bags and head off" Erza said and walked off. "Aye" and the two went to go pack for their trip. ".....so what about me" A wailing Lucy cried.

Time skip to train station because I can

" Ugh I can't believe I have to go on a job with you ya dang stripper", "Well it ain't my fault, you were the one who started the fight ya stupid pyro". Both gray and natsu were fighting until they heard the train whistle. "Whatever let's just get on, we don't have time for this" gray said as he grabbed Natsu's arm and dragged him on the train.

It wasn't long until Natsu was a total mess due to his motion sickness and he was hanging out the window. " Geez you really are hopeless", "s-shut up ice princ-" natsu wasn't able to finish his sentence because he was interrupted by puking. Gray let out a long sigh and grabbed the Dragon Slayer and rested him against his shoulder. Natsu's motion sickness went away as he breathed in Gray's cool scent. He smelled of mint and pine trees. "H-how'd you d-do that" asked a confused natsu. "Just sleep ok, I  didn't want to hear you groaning and puking your guts out. Besides I know how it feels to be sick so just shut up will ya" gray replied as he rubbed his hand along Natsu's back to soothe him. Natsu nodded and quickly fell asleep. Gray soon fell asleep too.

Gray woke up to the sound of the conductor telling them their destination was close. He looked to the side and natsu wasn't there anymore. Trying to get up, gray felt a weight on his lap. Looking down, there was natsu, he was nuzzling his nose into Gray's stomach to get more of the ice wizards scent. The ice mage had stripped while sleeping. Gray's face turned many different shades of red and shook the Dragon slayer to wake him up. Natsu groaned and woke up slowly, then his eyes shot open when he saw nothing but a Gray's abs and the V line. He was about to get up when the train came to a stop and it caused Natsu to fall off of the seat. "Sorry about that" a shy and nervous natsu said as he tried to hide his face in his scarf. "Don't worry about it, let's just get off this train" replied gray. The two got their luggage's and made their way to the client.
