Adeline Godefry:
"Ow not so hard" I squealed quietly. I rub the sore spot on my head where my sister pulled my hair.
"Stop don't touch, your gonna mess up the flowers" Helena said smacking my hand back. I roll my eyes "yes your benevolence" I say and continue to braid Isolde's hair.
The twins Winifred and Mirabelle snicker at my snarky comment. Helena pulls my hair again and I turn around and smack her on the leg.
"You will never get a husband if you keep acting violent like that Adeline" Catrain says. "Oh shut it not like I want one anyways" I said. My younger sisters giggle with the exception of Catrain.
"Oh no we've used all the flowers for mame" Helena says. We all look at each other and notice the flowery decor in our hair and dresses.
We laugh at the thought. " I'll get more the rest of you lot head inside" Catrain says picking up the basket. I watch her for a moment before standing up. I pick up Isolde and giggle.
"She just wants an excuse to meet her lover" I say and my sisters laugh at the thought.
Catrain Godefry:
I walk further into the forest. Stumbling into the small flower meadow where we picked the first batch of flowers. Bending down, I begin to pick the flowers.
A twin snaps back in the forest causing my head to shoot up. I look around, nothing.
I hear rustling in the forest again. I pick up my basket and sprint for the castle. As I run back the way I came I hear heavy footsteps following close behind.
As the garden of the castle comes into view, I step in the front of my dress and cringe as I hear a loud tearing sound. I squeal as I fall foreword.
But arms wrap around my waist and pull me up before I hit the ground. I look up to see the culprit of my fear and sigh in relief.
" Don't ever do that again you bastard" I say hitting him in the chest and laughing. He just chuckles and smiles at me. " why were you following me Byorin" I asked.
"I wanted to see you, before I go back on duty" he said wrapping his arms around my waist again. He leans in and kisses me.
Adeline Godefry:
Me and my sisters are sitting in the study with mother who is reading. "Adeline darling where is your sister" she asked. "She went to get more flowers in the meadow mame" I said.
She hummed and continued reading her book. She sits for a few before standing up and looking out the window with a very worried look in her face.
"Will you please go and get her, I hate her being out there alone, it's going to rain soon"she sighs. I stand up and look up at the sky from the window. Such a shame just an hour ago the sky was clear.
"Yes mame" I say and walk out of the study towards the Garden, I can understand why she would be worried. The Norse men and women started invading our lands. We live awfully close to the shore, actually our castle is on a cliff that hangs above. We are so prone to an attack. I'm surprised we haven't been.
But recently more and more girls in our city have been going missing. Kidnapped and sold by the Norse pirates. Gods know what they are doing to them. When I walk into the garden there is no sign of Catrain.
I walk into the forest some more and a few feet in I begin to hear moans. My ya first thought is she is hurt so I run to where I hear the sounds and am horrified at the sight. I scream and turn away wait for them to clothe themselves. I turn around when I believe they are at least partially modest.
I stand with a hand on my hip and squinted eyes. Catrain looks down in shame and Byorin looks away awkwardly.
"You are so stupid, you are lucky it was just me and not some other person, god forbid one of our sisters" I said. I nodded my head for Byorin to leave and he ran away back to his post.
I begin to walk back to the castle with Catrain following closely behind. "Wipe the face off or mother will know you did something wrong" I said and she immediately changed her facial expression.
"Who knows she may find out, what's the worst that she would do, probably have Byorin tortured in the dungeons and marry you off to some old lord and send you far away" I said.
She gasped and went to yell at me but I stopped her before she did. " I told you to be more careful, you were this close to being caught I'm not trying to be cruel I'm being realistic" I growled at her " I'm retrying to protect you" I said softly.
Catrain and I walk back into the study greeted by a worried look from mother. "Catrain where in gods names were you" she asked. " I'm sorry mame I was walking in the woods and lost track of time" she said handing the basket of flowers to Isolde she giggles and runs over to Winifred and Mirabelle.
" mother if you don't mind I'm going to retreat to my chambers" I said and walked out of the room upstairs to my bedroom. I lay on my bed and slowly drift to sleep.
