Vision returned back to Clementine. She layed 'exhausted on the rough ground. Clem coughed up some water that were still stuck in her lungs. She couldn’t remember anything for a second, it was all a haze, until she realised that she was still wearing Louis’ hoodie.
“Louis!” she yelled as she jerked up from the ground. Her body was freezing and her clothes were drenched. Clem wrapped her arms around herself for warmth. “Where are you?” she whispered to herself. Clem walked north, she didn’t know where she was going, or where she was, she just had to find Louis. While she was walking she saw Louis passed out behind a rock. Clementine gasped and ran over to him.
“P-please don’t be dead,” Clem sobbed as she kneeled down and inspected him. His clothes were drenched and minor cuts were on his face and arms. She placed the side of her head to his chest so she could hear if his heart was beating, he was alive. “Louis… please wake up,” Clementine begged as she shook his arm. His eyes fluttered open, then he slowly sat up.
“W-what hap-
Clementine interrupted him by wrapping her arms around him.
“Don’t ever scare me like that again!” Clem sobbed as she tightened her grip on him.
“Didn’t know you missed me this much,” Louis chuckled
“Shut up,” Clementine giggled as she let him go. When she let him go Louis started to shiver.“Do you want your jacket back?” asked Clementine as she already started to take it off.
“Yes… i-if you d-don’t mind,” Louis stuttered out of coldness. She ringed the water out of the jacket by twisting it before giving it to him. “Heh, maybe I should jump-into a r-river more, if y-you’re giving m-me attention like this.”
“Please do if it means you’ll shut up.”
“Hey!”
After their mini fit of laughter, they decided to actually look around and find shelter and possibly food for tonight. “Clem?” Louis asked.
“Yeah?” she replied.
“Can I-I hold y-your hand I’m a little scared?”
“Sure,” Clem answered as she held his hand, Louis blushed slightly and smiled at her. The two started to walk along the shore. To their right they saw a ledge that led up to a large forest. “Louis, up there,” Clem pointed to the rotting wood ledge.
“Ugh, more exercise,” Louis groaned as he glared at it. Clementine giggled then lead him to the ledge.
While Clementine inspected the ledge she realised she’s too short to reach it.
“Um, Louis can you help me get up?” asked Clem a little embarrassed.
“Why? Is it because you’re too short?” Louis teased with a smirk on his face. Clementine flushed red in embarrassment.
“Hey! I’m average height!” Clem yelled at him and clutched her other hand in a fist out of anger.
“Okay okay! I’ll help you… shortie,” Louis muttered the last word but said it loud enough so Clementine could hear it. She stared daggers into his eyes which made him sweat. “Fine, you’re average height,” Louis chuckled nervously, Clem rolled her eyes.
“Just… just help me up!” Clementine demanded.
Louis laughed again before kneeling down and linking his fingers together to help Clementine. Clementine slipped her foot into his hands as Louis pushed her up to the ledge.
