Rivers Cuomo, lead singer of Weezer...Ring a bell? The one who created all of the blue album, "Say It Ain't So?" Yeah, he's a celebrity. And your best friend.

You've known Rivers his whole life, and grew up with him. You thought you weren't very good with instruments, or singing, and you had a bit of stage fright. Rivers asked you if you wanted to join his band, but you politely declined. He was okay with it. Nonetheless, things were great even if you weren't in his band. You guys would hang out sometimes, have a few drinks (which was kinda illegal at the time, but shhh).

You guys spent a lot of time together, but that's come to an end. Ever since his band blew up and his songs were on the radio.. you guys drifted apart. He was too busy with concerts and tours, not to mention school. You tried to text him.. no answer. You called him once.. no answer. A few days later he replied and apologized, through text of course, and he explained that he was too busy.

Rivers talked about taking a little break from touring and spending time with some friends maybe. This excited you, you were ecstatic to get back together with your best friend. He said maybe in a month, and thus, you waited. The days were long and boring without him. Your job was boring you as well.

You considered yourself an introvert, you were never very good at making friends, and Rivers seemed to be as well. He was quiet and calm, collected just as you. This lead you to him and you guys became friends. You shared an interest in music, but you doubted you were very good at any of it. It made you anxious to sing, or even play instruments hardly in front of people. Rivers noticed, and slowly but surely got you not as nervous around him. You guys would hang out in his garage and sing songs together. He was the bestest friend you could ever ask for.

Though River went through a lot, you were always there for him. You made sure he knew that too. You spent a lot of time comforting him, calming him down, and letting him vent to you. He was just as supportive. Sometimes you'd crumble right in front of him, and he'd hug you and let you know it was okay. Later on, you guys would just watch a movie together and calm down.

He kept you at peace, you kept him at peace. It was the best friendship you could've ever asked for. Rivers was kind and sweet, a little awkward, but so were you. You guys complemented each other nicely, definitely a more than compatible friendship.

After a begrudgingly tedious day, you came home and landed onto the couch. Although you were waiting for his return, you had completely forgot about him coming back home. You eventually drifted off into a deep sleep. Dreaming of seeing Rivers in the garage again, singing along with him. You seemed to smile in your sleep.

Suddenly, you felt a tap on your shoulder. Your eyes fluttered open and you rubbed your face.
"nnnngh... who's there?"
After rubbing your face, you looked up to see Rivers. You scrambled up and stared at him, your mouth wide open. "...Rivers?!" You smiled and let out a chuckle before leaning forward and giving him a big hug.

"Hey Y/N!!" Rivers replied, squeezing you and grinning.

You guys parted from the hug after awhile and stared at each other.
"I missed you so much, Rivers.." you looked towards the ground a bit, thinking of all the stuff you did without him, and the times you needed him the most.
"I know.. I know. I'm sorry. I wish I could've been here, but music.. it's.. my passion." He replied, letting out a sigh.
"I-I understand." You stammered out. You suddenly were just hit with multiple emotions at once, it was almost overwhelming. Tears formed in your eyes and you sniffled, wiping your eyes.
"You better hang out with me-" You let out a small chuckle, taking in a sharp inhale.
He reached out and hugged you again, holding you in his arms.
"I really am sorry, Y/N." Rivers whispered, gently stroking your hair.
"I wanted to be here, I really did.. but I'm here now."
You nodded, closing your eyes tightly and letting out a small sigh.
"It's okay, it's okay.." You replied back, taking acknowledgement of his empathy.
"Let's go get wasted or something." You looked up at him, smiling a little bit.
He nodded and let go of you, turning towards the door.
"Sounds like a plan!"
