I felt bothersome. As if his presence is the main cause of this... "dark arora." With all my hate for M'lady would quickly go to... Markus...

Hwang Markus. If it weren't for myself, and Kai being knights at a young age. Markus would have been the head guard. Markus isn't a kind guy he pretends himself into. Markus isn't that caring guy he fakes himself to be.

Hwang Markus: cruel, heartless, and my "brother". He really tall, about 6'0, while I'm 5'5. He has messy, straight black hair. His hair covers part of his forehead. (A/N think of Wonho from Monsta X. If you don't know him, search him up.)

He's M'lady's son, as in when my Majesty died, M'lady went off to have something with one of the head guards at the time. When M'lady found out she was pregnant, she didn't want anything to do with the kid and told the knight to take full responsibility for the kid, Markus. The knight refused, therefor he was killed with no hesitation.

So Markus would be my half brother, younger brother. Since he's freakishly tall, he calls me "younger sister" sometimes. Rarely due to us not getting along, and hating the fact that related.

"What do you want..?" I glared. I didn't feel like having a conversation with anyone right now. Especially having a conversation with that imbecile.

"What's with the attitude? That isn't nice to say to your older brother.. is it now?" He smirks. I knew he was up to something. Good or bad, my gut senses are telling me that he was up to something.

"Markus. You know for a fact that I'm older than you, by 2 years." I scoffed. Was he getting on my nerves? He is, slowly, but surely. "I know you're up to something-" I started then out rudely cut off by that one and only.

"Huh? Me..? Up to something..? Oh my! How can you ever think that!" He faked. I'm choking. Now I'm for sure that he is up to something. "I don't think Ms. Kim come up with the idea of marrying a prince.." it took me a while to understand what he was talking about. Then it hit me like a wave. My face was surprised then to shock. Markus took the facial expression. "Haha, you should see your face! If you were wondering... I gave the idea to Ms. Kim and what seems like the perfect moment.." he chuckled. At this point, I wanted to be realistic. I can't get mad at him and let me see me at my weakest state.

"So you basically saved me from marrying Kai.." I sighed. He looks at me, and I return with a blank expression. He looks away, then back to me. He stood quiet but didn't deny my statement.

"If you were to get married. You shouldn't get married to your best friend. It doesn't work like that, nor work out well". He said, staring at the ground. "Nor do I want you to get married to my best friend." He also stated. "I also know you didn't like him. You're not compatible with him.. well more like he's not compatible with you." He ended.

"Was this a selfish act or to help me?" I shot the question. "What do you know about loving people?!" I started to argue. "I know for a fact that M'lady didn't show you any kind of love, nor to anyone in this castle! You haven't been in a relationship with anyone either.." I gave myself some air, and some time for Markus to reply.

"I may not be in any other relationship, but I know for that fact that you don't love Kai. You even said it yourself, out loud.. you should find a way to stop talking in your sleep.." he chuckled, I gave him a quick stare. He clears his throat. "Anyways for your first question... it was more of a selfish act, but the more I think about it.. maybe it was to also to help you. All I have ever been to you was a cold-hearted brother." He rambled. "But that doesn't mean that I'm going to be nicer to you." He scoffs. "We can both agreed that we hate each other. Also that we don't have a good history together. It's the least I can do to be rude to you. Haha after all you are leaving soon." He smiles, I rolled my eyes. "I am going to miss you when you leave. I will have no one to mess with after all. No one to tease, no one to despise.. after all, I am your younger brother." He grinned.
