I was in a rush to get ready, I wanted to look my best for Johnathon. I'm not sure if it was normal for a girl like me to want to look pretty in a bathing suit, but I knew it made Johnathon happy to see me get ready for him and him alone. Despite his caring and kind personality, he had a dark side behind that charming smirk.

His father abused him as a child, one reason why Johnathon keeps everything tidy and neat is because he still has that mind set that he will get beaten if he doesn't. He fell into Miguel's line of sight when he was caught stealing food from a market near the docks in New York. His father never fed him at the time, Miguel took him in and that's that, that's all Johnathon told me. I knew well enough though that he was possessive, especially with me.

The first and last time we went on a date in Madrid, a man glanced at me and we were out of there within seconds. I am not going to lie, I was enjoying the dinner until then, but Johnny made up for it. He made italian for dinner once we came back and then he slept in my bed with me that night as well, holding me in a sweet embrace that he promised only I would ever know.

I didn't mind his possessiveness, I knew when the limit was reached and so far it wasn't anywhere near that, so we were good. Other than that, there aren't many flaws with Johnathon... Actually, there might be one more. Working with Miguel all these years has made a big impact on him, I can tell. It doesn't show this moment, but I remember times he would be yelling on the phone in his room next to mine. Something didn't go right or go his way, something wasn't clean within the system. He did cocaine to, sometimes I would see dark circles under his eyes and a sweaty forehead to follow.

These were some things I wish were not, Johnathon was a good man, but he never knew his limit. He pushed himself to be the best yet, through his eyes, was never good enough. An issue brought up from childhood abuse, I see know why he wants me so much and not the other girls, it's not only my beauty it's because i'm the only normal thing in his life and for that I am thankful.

I put on my black sunglasses and lather up my skin with sun lotion before putting on my bathing suit. I was prepared enough to go to the beach, you had to be, to be able to go swimming in our pull. A crescent waterfall flowing into it was installed not even a month ago.

I put on a red two piece, it tied in the back for the top and for the bottoms on the sides. My soft smooth skin really was a strength when wearing these particular articles of clothing. My hair flew carelessly out in a curly like way, it was puffy and unknotted all at the same time. It felt soft to the touch, I thank the shampoo I used the night before.

I glance in the mirror and try to rearrange myself in the best way. I turn over and look down at Pablo, who is glaring up at me with innocence in his eyes. I shake my head and giggle a bit, it wouldn't hurt to let him come and swim with us, my uncle was to busy to care. I crouched down before the puppy and patted his head before standing up and making my way to the door opening it.

A perk to having a large swimming pool beside your home is bare feet, no need I worry about shoes. Pablo ran his way down stairs and into the kitchen, I however stayed further behind, taking slow steady steps, glancing at the pictures here and there. My feet patting across the carpet, I walked downstairs and turned to make my way through the library to the kitchen.

When I had arrived I was surprised to find Maria working in a haste to put food into the fridge and cabinets of the kitchen. She was in a blue aqua dress that stuck tight to her figure, her hair cascading down her back, she was in tall blue high heels, that clicked against the tile loudly as she walked back and forth through the kitchen, she had gold ring earrings on, and crimson red lip stick.

"Um... Maria?" I called, she turned briskly and held her hand to her chest, eyes widened, trembling hands, as though she was startled, my eyebrows furrowed with confusion. She shook her head and took a deep breath before continuing her work. "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine." She snapped at me, I shrugged, not wanting to make her day worse if it already was. She seemed uneasy, a sway in her step made me believe something was rushing her. I took a step foreword and was surprised by a strong arm wrapping around my waist gently, soft feather light lips pressing against my neck, I knew who it was. I chuckled, then turned to wrap my arms around his neck, staring Johnathon in the eyes. He was in swim trunks that he kept in his room for when he came here and he had sunglasses hanging off his head. He held an arm behind his back as though he was hiding something.

"What do you have?" I questioned, crossing my arms and leaning on my left leg, he chuckled slightly before revealing a large bouquet of an exotic assortment of flowers. I stared at them with awe, marveling at the unique beauty and colors they possessed. I then jumped into his arms once again, giving him sweet kisses all over his face.

Maria was the only one we allowed to know of our relationship and she could care less. Miguel however would not be easy on him, Enrique would probably strangle him when behind my back, as I said before we had grown a sibling like bond and I knew he wouldn't take Johnathon away unless I wasn't aware of it.

"So... Let's go swimming." I was about to turn and leave for the patio, but Johnathon held my wrist rather forcefully, I turned and looked at him, his eyes looking up and down at my slender figure.

"You look beautiful." He stated sincerely with a welcoming smile upon his face, I smiled back, repeating the same look he had on me no more than a second ago.

"You look handsome." I replied back, he just blushed.

"No I don't, you can have any man, but you chose to stay with me."

"You could have any woman, yet you choose to stay with me." He released my hand, I took a step back towards the sliding glass door. Just when my palm met the cool silver handle, the doorbell wrung.

All heads in the room turned to look in the direction of the lobby, Maria was curious, I assumed it was Miguel's associates. Maria slowly making small steps to walk through the library and into the lobby. I was curious as well, Johnathon was watching cautiously as Maria made her way towards the door, I smiled jumping onto his back, he chuckled and then grabbed the bottom of my thighs to keep me held against his back.

"Forward!" I ordered playfully, laying my head on his left shoulder, he easily walked his way into the library with me on his back as though I was weightless. I probably was to him, he was 190 pounds and I was 110, the difference is eighty pounds of pure muscle. He carried me into the lobby after Maria, who was daring out the window nervously at the so called guest. The door bell wrung again, I hopped off of Johnathon's back, he smiled at me and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

"Hey." He whispered, hot breath at my ear.

"Hey." I cooed back, my lips brushing his cheek. He blushed furiously, Maria finally opened the door and when she did. My smile fell down to the ground, literally. The woman at the door was in a raggy dress, dirt all over her and dark circles under her eyes. Her lips crusty along with the corners of her eyes, I froze completely. The woman's feet were bare and covered with blisters in the sides. The woman... The woman was my mother.
