A Different Path (Growing Up)

Character Recap *Not a Chapter

Hey to all my readers! Thank you for reading my own spin off of Yandere Simulator!

Originally, if memory serves correctly, it was going to be another normal story of Yandere-Chan chasing after her beloved Sempai and getting rid of any rivals that dare get in her way. Of course the Male Rivals would be there to ruin her every plans to get her beloved Sempai, and may even teach her a few valuable life lessons that maybe she didn't need to beloved Sempai to make her feel emotions. 

Then I started reading on more about Yandere and its characters, and started reading a few other fanfiction. And then I read "Tabula Rasa" by WhoIsAtlas from fanfiction.net and somewhere along the way it snowballed into this story.  

I wanted to create a timeline where Ryoba Aishi died leaving her husband to raise their only daughter alone. With yandere Ryoba gone and her husband free from her grasp, he's finally allowed to live life the way he wanted to, with the exception that he now had to take care of a daughter that he never wanted, but couldn't bare to lose because of psychological reasons. (IE Ryoba's husband had no one left and clung onto Ayano, who while looked like Ryoba wanted her to live a live entirely away from Ryoba's poisonous tendency)

And because Ryoba no longer has an iron fist over her husband and Ayano, they now can do whatever they want. Like meet their neighbors. The Otoro Family. 

Originally I have planned for the Otoro Family to move away, but I convinced myself not too because then I'd have to reintroduce them later and I'm just lazy... Also, from a fanmade comic strip I found on pinterest of Nemesis' Family moving away, a random thought occurred to me. 

In that comic strip, Ryoba Aishi is still alive. Nemesis' Mother, never having really had a chance to acquaint with the Aishi Family before, decided to strike up a conversation with Ryoba's husband. Just being friendly and neighborly and wanting to get to know the people who she saw had lots of common with because they have children the same age who were becoming friends. Ryoba saw Nemesis' Mom getting too friendly with her husband, her Yandere tendency took over and she planned to get rid of her. Instead of murdering her in cold blood, she decided to poison her instead. 

The poison caused Nemesis' Mother to go to the hospital where she was slowly dying and had to be sent to a better hospital who could help her. That's when Nemesis and his Father moved to be closer to her, but eventually she would succumb to the poison under the guise of some kind of disease. And so it continued on with Ayano never really feeling emotions until she met her beloved Sempai and yadda, yadda, yadda... 

Crap, where was I again? I got distracted...

Anyway, yeah. This whole story is basically about Ayano Aishi growing up without her Mother around, leaving her Father, Tatsui, to raise her himself. Of course since he has no clue of parenthood as he was forced into it by Ryoba who practically took care of Ayano herself, Tatsui asks help for their neighbor, Tsumura who gladly takes care of Ayano as if she's her own daughter. And so continues the adventure of child Ayano and learning how to feel while meeting new friends, who coincidentally be the Male Rivals as well as a few other familiar characters...

Anyway, that was a long author's note... So I'll just go ahead and reintroduce the characters here.

Ayano Aishi - Short black hair with parts of her hair tied to a side ponytail and black, expressionless eyes - The main protagonist of this story. Much like her Mother, Ryoba Aishi when she was young, she can't feel any emotions. Yet unlike her Mother she can feel something close to emotions under extreme circumstances.
