Jack and Agnes, riding on Yosemite, trot back home and decide to take a break from talking on the way home. When they arrive home, Jack sighs, "This... Is my home."

He gets off the horse and holds Agnes by the pits of her arms and lifts her off the horse and lets her down gently, figuring her body might hurt. He then leads Yosemite to the barn to rest. He walks to Agnes and leads her inside, "Come in... Goodness, you're. Well, forgive me for saying so, but you're a mess, Agnes."

She nods, "Oh, I know.. I am dirty. I haven't had a wash in so long. When I was being held up by those men, they let me sleep either in their beds with 'em... Or on the ground. I chose the ground most of the time. Other times, my back was hurting so badly from working, I just couldn't bare to take it. So I had to sleep in their beds with 'em... They'd molest me, and... I don't wanna talk about it.."

Jack shakes is head and sighs, "No way to treat a woman... I'm sorry for all that... Come inside, my mama might have some clothes that'd fit you."

She shakes her head insistently, "No, those are your mama's!"

He chuckles, "I know my mama would be happy to know that I am giving her clothes that she don't wear no more to someone who needs 'em."

She tilts her head whilst walking along side of Jack, "Well, where is she?"

He looks to her while walking, "She passed away a long time ago. I live alone. I have for a long time, Agnes. It might be a pleasant change to have someone to talk to every now and again. Now, lets get them clothes on ya."

Agnes jolts, "Oh, my... I apologize!"

He chuckles, "Ain't nothin'. I took care of her for the remainder of her life. Dressed her, fed her, did everythin' for her."

Agnes smiles, "Well, sounds like you were a good son..."

"Now, let's get your clothes."

Agnes follows Jack anxiously. When they reach the bedroom in which Jack's parents used to lie, he pauses for a minute. Remembering waking is mother and father up in the mornings for breakfast and taking care and dressing his mother. Agnes places her hand on Jack's shoulder, "Jack... Are you alright?"

He nods, "Yes. Now, here." He opens his parents' wardrobe and takes out a yellow and orange plaid dress. He then takes out a blue half-jacket and hand them both to her. "My mama used to wear this stuff all of the time, it'd look good on you."

She takes the clothes and looks at them, "Oh, Jack, thank you, they're beautiful! You're sure your mama wouldn't mind?"

He nods, "She'd be happy to know I'm doing the right thing." He walks out of the room and turns around, "Agnes, come out when you have it on, I would like to see it." He smiles a slight bit and nods before walking out.

She lies the clothes on the bed and undresses from the gown. She puts on the clothing piece by piece, buttoning buttons and tying ties and finally looks at herself in the mirror. "Ohhh.... I look so beautiful... This was his mama's?" She comes out to see Jack sitting on the sofa outside, "Well, how do I look?"

Jack gives a small smile. "You look real good." To see another woman in his mother's clothes made him gain a lump in his throat and he seemed sad to see it. Nevertheless, Agnes fit in Abigail's clothing perfectly. He got up, "Anything you want for dinner?"

Agnes sits on the couch, "Well... What do you have?" She fiddles with her thumbs.

"I have stew, you want some of that? My ma used to make amazing stew. Potatoes, carrots, broth, it was real good." He takes his jacket and his hat off.
