Over dinner, Simon had asked the students about their first day. Everyone seemed to think it was quite good, which appeared to be excellent news to Simon.

"Hey, ladies," Dexter said, poking his head through their bedroom door before letting himself in. He closed the door and turned around to spot Cassie, Erin...and Summer. Summer stared in surprise at Dexter.

"Oh!" Dexter exclaimed, his mouth hanging open. "Hi...Summer?"

"Um, yeah that's right," Summer answered. She was in the middle of tying up her frizzy hair. "What are you doing here?"

"Well," Dexter said. "Cassie...she borrowed my homework. Right, Cassie?"

"Oh, right," Cassie joined in, nervously laughing before reaching over to Erin's bedside table (both she and Erin were sitting on Erin's bed to the left) and pulling a folded piece of paper back. She then held it out for Dexter to take, waving it in the air when Dexter wasn't taking it.

"This homework isn't going to take itself," Cassie remarked.

"Haha, Cassie," Dexter forced out, walking towards Cassie and grabbing hold of her wrist instead of the paper. "We did agree to help each other...back in my room?"

"What?" Cassie questioned him.

"Yeah," Erin agreed. "I remember. I...I said I would help, too." Summer just stared at all three of them as Cassie was whisked out of the room by Dexter and Erin. As she looked into her handheld mirror, knowing there was no homework given as it was only the first day, she commented, "Weirdos."

"Cassie," Dexter said after Erin closed the door behind the three of them. "I was trying to get you out of the room. I didn't expect Summer to be there."

"You could've just said, 'Cassie, Erin, I need your help with something'."

"Oh," Dexter said as the three walked out the door at the end of the corridor, soon coming to the stairs after walking through another, plainer corridor.

"Hey, Dex," Adil said as they met him in the entrance hall at the end of the stairs. He was carrying his football, spinning it in his hands, which distracted Cassie.

"Hey, Adil," Cassie said. Adil nodded in response before proceeding down the hall.

"Great," Dexter sighed. "Adil's going into the room." Adil walked into his, Dexter's and PJ's bedroom and closed the door.

"Do you think he's interested in me?" Cassie asked.

"Please," Dexter moaned egotistically. "Your focus should be on the Dexterminator." Dexter then performed a terrible robot dance, forcing Cassie to cringe whilst Erin giggled.

"Back to what we're down here for," Cassie said, snapping Dexter and Erin back. "Why did you call us? Did you get a clue from Kevin?"

"Yeah," Dexter answered. Then, in sudden realisation, he slapped his hand to his head in disappointment. When Erin and Cassie asked what's wrong, he replied, "I left my laptop on." With quick glances back at the corridor, the doors leading to the kitchen and living room, and back at the girls, he whispered, "Adil might see Eddie's clue. And the other messages!"

"Go, quick!" Cassie shrieked. Dexter zoomed over to his bedroom door and threw the door open, causing Ian — who was about to knock on the door — to step away from the door. Adil, who was spinning his football on his finger whilst using his laptop at his desk on the left side of the room, dropped the ball in fright and spun in the chair to face Dexter.

"Oh, sorry," Dexter laughed, eyeing his own vulnerable laptop on his bed to the right. Ian, who became puzzled by this, shrugged it off and asked by the doorway, "Hey, guys. Have any of you seen a necklace? It's made of black string and has a kind of cross on it with a loop on top."
