Melody wakes up in her bed. There's a sunrise through her orange curtains. Eirika is leaning over her as she wakes.
Eirika: Hey. Wake up, Kent is coming over in half an hour, you don't want him seeing you in your sorry state, do you?
Melody: Gee thanks.
Eirika: Hee hee, I'm teasing you. Now get ready fast.
Melody yawns and sighs as she gets off of the side of her bed feet first.
(Good Miserable Morning [1] begins)
Melody:
There might not be sunshine in here
And I feel better knowing you're near
But as of now I've got to get up
It's good miserable morning
I don't feel like
Doing anything
When you're not here
You are my sunshine
Quite frankly school sucks
Today I've got to face it all
But I got up!
I'm getting ready to face it all
Try to find a better day!
No more miserable morning!
It's a good morning!
Open the curtains, enter the light
Got no resentment, rid of my blight
Don't have to look in the hindsight
I know it's hard
When high school starts
But I gotta keep getting up!
No I know I can't just give up!
I'll make it a good morning!
It'll be a good morning!
Eirika:(spoken)
Good morning!
The door bell rings loudly.
Eirika: (yelling from downstairs) I'LL GET IT!
Melody: (loudly so Kent hears) Hey! Kent! Come up here, dude!
Kent laughs and is heard walking up stairs as Melody gets visibly excited.
Kent: (hugs Melody) Ahh! I missed you, spring break was too long.
Melody: Haha, I wish. Anyway, how are things?
Kent:(awkwardly) Uh, they're going..! Haha.
(Record scratch, freeze frame)
(Melody shoots look at audience)
-Resumes-
Melody: Okay, dork. Love you, but why'd you come to my house an hour before school starts?
Kent: Cause I wanted to start walking with my girlfriend! Is that too much to ask?
Melody: Guess not. That is, if I'm the girlfriend, not Eirika.
Kent: Oh, quit. I love you! Your personality is an enticing depth, but not as deep as your eyes when-
Melody: O....Kay. Now skidaddle so I can get clothes on. (She kisses Kent's cheek.)
(Cuts to scene where Kent, Melody, and Eirika are walking to school. Eirika is on her phone.)
Melody: Hey? Eirika? Jeez, dude, get off your phone and talk to us.
Kent: Yeah, I thought I was your bestie!
Melody looks at Kent strangely.
Eirika still ignores them while texting.
Melody: UGH. (Groans)
Eirika: (Looks away from phone) Well excuse me, it's not my fault that my friend is flirt texting my boyfriend!
(Hey Hi Hello [2])
Melody:
Hey. Hi, hello, how've you been? Clearly rather listen to your jerkhole friends!
Kent:
Hey, what's up, haven't talked in a while cause you've been wrapping up in the drama 'round your finger.
Both:
And I bet you think that you are pretty great, only winking at boys will score you a date, but instead of rotting your personality and ruining your brain,
Kent: (spoken)
Why not just talk to us for a change?
Melody:
Hey, hi, girl what else is new? You only hang out with the ones making fun of you.
Eirika:
Well for your information, I get the sensation we're the only ones that ever would be seen around you!
Melody:
At least I'm not a self inflating jerk!
Eirika: (spoken)
Oh my god.
Kent:
Hey, hi, hello, maybe this is getting way too heated and maybe you guys should-
Melody:(spoken)
-KEEP ARGUING.
Kent: (spoken)
What.
Melody:
And I know you're convinced that you're just the best, cause when I make a point you don't leave it to rest! You could just leave me alone, and go back to your phone, but-
Kent:
Guuuuys!
Eirika:
Ugh, well, then I'll just walk alone!
Melody:
Fine then I won't have to hear you say-
Kent:
Hey! hi! Hellostoparguing!
Eirika:
Ugh!
Eirika stomps off.
Cut to scene at school.
