Hazel stared at the sky above her. The day had been sort of boring, and there wasn't much work for her. After spending the previous weekend at Camp Half-Blood with Frank and Reyna, life back in the legion had become bland. She missed Nico already and had tried to IM him earlier, but her brother had still been sleeping. Dear Gods! It was 12:30! So now here she was. On the grassy fields. Just laying.
That is until one of her favorite people interrupted her quiet. Thank the gods.
"Hey, Haze! I couldn't find you anywhere!"
Hazel grinned and sat up. Turning to face her distraction she simpered down her smile. "Hey Frank, what's up?"
Frank smiled brightly and shook his head. Hazel always tried not laugh when he did that. He looked like a wet puppy with an itch.
"Nothing much. I did some favors for Reyna. Lupa and her pack stopped by today, they had some new legionaires to drop off. Oh! And I called, sorry, Iris messaged Jason."
Hazel nodded. "Oh really? What did he say?"
"He said he was going to swing by for a couple of days. He and Annabeth had some plans for new temples, but only he could make it here at the moment. He said they were going to-"
Frank made eye contact with Hazel, and cut himself off. "I'm sorry, I forgot to ask", he said looking ashamed. "How have you been?"
Hazel quirked her head and smiled at him gently. Sitting back down on the uniform, well cut grass she patted the space beside her and gestured for her boyfriend to sit. "I'm doing pretty well, aside from the fact that I was drowning in my boredom", she responded once Frank had settled beside her.
"Oh shoot, I'm sorry, I hadn't ment to bore you!!", Frank began rambling nervously, "I know I talk alot -"
Hazel silenced him with a firm kiss on the cheek. "I was talking about before you showed up silly. I love listening to you. Your stories always make my day." She grasped her boyfriend's hand and leaned into his side, turning her face into the warmth of his SPQR hoodie. He smelled like kitchen spices and wet grass. "Weren't you telling me Jason's plans?""U-um, right. Okay... Thanks Hazel..."
"No problem you loveable oaf."
