Great Men

There once was a boy who watched the great men

he watched them work hard

when they moved mountains

or they moved hearts

when they would stand victorious on the podium

or when they would stand defeated in the final fight

or even if the world defeated them

when god himself would be jealous and break down these men

yet they would not give up and these men kept fighting

that young boy looked at these men as his heros

that young boy took endurance in to his ideals and soul

that young boy vowed to never give up no matter what cost

that young boy grew up challenging the world

There once was a teenager who stood behind great men

he trained with them and ate with them

he learned what fatigue really was

he was battered and bruised

his sweat covered his clothing

his bruises never seemed to heal

but he was never broken and never gave up

the great men pushed the teenager to his limits

then they pushed him farther

he could never satisfy them until he was bleeding

they wanted his blood not for their own pleasure

they made him bleed in order to become them

because the story of great men is painted in their own blood

He painted his story with his blood

he proved himself a great man

as he stood on his podium

he looked down

he looked at the boys

he looked at the teenagers

and he knew why the great men never gave up

The great men never fought for themselves

they fought for the boys

they fought for the teenagers

they fought to inspire

they fought so that they next generation would have great men

men who would never give up

men who could stand in the face of the devil and laugh

men who are afraid of nothing but losing what they love most

so that great man who was once a boy did as the great men did in the past

he pushed the teenagers and inspired the boys

but he has never forgotten the great men who came before him

the men who believed in him from the start

the men who made him the man he is now
