Happiness, a feeling we never know when it'll end. It can last an eternity, a year, two months, a week, or even a second. In this case, it lasted for five minutes on March 14th 2019.
On a Warm Springs afternoon, Kaitlyn, my friend and I were heading back from school, very elated. We had just received the results for our class test. We did well. Walking and Laughing, such an innocent act. We never knew what disaster would approach us next. We immediately noticed a huff of black smoke coming from our village. "Aye, Katie, Old Man Doug must have started burning another tire, eh?",I said.
"Or it could be one of our houses?!" She replied sounding completely flustered.
"Oh come on! Don't be so grim!"
"It could be true." , she said as she dashed towards the direction the smoke was coming from. Which was funny since people tend to run away from smoke or fire. I follow because I was now worried.
As I approached the location, I saw crowds of people, a fire truck and what seemed like one hundred crying children. I recognized the Building as Happy Hearts Orphanage. I saw Kaitlyn screaming while in a nun's arm. "My home! My life! What could have caused this?" The orphanage was her only home, living there since she was only one year old. She stood there, before the burning building, watching her life fall apart before her very own eyes.
