Chapter 4

Charlotte

I got ready for the date today. I was so excited. If this goes well then we could be closer.

Just as I walked in Henry stared at me.

"Wow you look amazing Charlotte."He said smiling.

"Thank you." I thanked. I liked how kind he was.

He pulled my chair back for me so I can sit down.

I sat down and we looked at the menu.

"The sushi looks good." Henry said looked at me.

"I hate sushi!" I replied. He looked surprised when I said that.

"What wrong with sushi?" He asked.

"Everything! They make me want to puke."I say looking harder at the menu.

I ordered me a burger and fries.

Henry got pizza.

Henry ate like his dog. It was so funny.

Soon as we got done eating, he got done eating we went outside on the porch to talk and enjoy the restaurant view.

"Did you enjoy yourself?" asked Henry.

"A lot." I replied. Just as me and Henry leaned forward to almost kiss I got a text from my mom.

Mom:Where are you!?

"I'm so sorry I have to go Henry. Maybe another time?" I said getting my things together in a rush.

Henry looked kinda sad but he hugged me before I left.

Just as I got home my mom asked a million questions.

"Where have you been." My mom asked.

"On a date."I replied putting my purse down.

"With who?" She asked.

"Henry." I answered.

"Henry Hart? That white kid?" She had a shock look on her face when I shook my head yes.

"Honey you can't be going on date without me knowing." She said.

"Mom! You don't care if the boy black but if he's white you ask a million questions!" I said getting mad.

Before she could say anything else I ran to my mom mad. She always did this and life was unfair.
